2025 projected total sales $60,766.59Well I hit it hard this week on the listing front. Sunday morning I challenged myself to do something difficult to get some death pile listed so I chose to do a big lot of Fiesta stoneware I bought last summer at a yard sale. I was feeling unbalanced doing so many shoes listings lately and I just needed to mix it up a bit. If every week I can tackle some difficult backlog cache from the death piles I’ll feel a lot better!
I’m also feeling the lack of clothing listings since I don’t list at my desk at work anymore. One day last week I got the idea to go to the park and do some clothing listings at a covered picnic shelter. It worked out pretty good so I’ll try to do that some this week again. If I can knock out 20-30 clothing listings a week this way that would be very helpful.
No yard sales this week due to bad weather. I did hit a few goodwills during our weekend adventures – got some shoes and a couple nice odds n ends. The days of getting awesome random stuff at Goodwill are long gone. If I wasn’t a shoe seller I probably wouldn’t even go to Goodwill at this point.
In non-ebay related Goodwill finds, my daughter has been Prom dress shopping and happened to find her dream Prom dress New With Tags on Sunday at Goodwill. This is literally the exact color, cut, details and somehow the perfect size that she has wanted for years and hasn’t been able to find.
This week I just need to keep the momentum going and repeat what I did last week. Sales are starting to respond in kind.

1180 in sales for 3k inventory is pretty great. I am not having any luck at goodwill in a long time. I have pretty much given up going. Mostly hitting estate sales.

Estate sales are mostly hot garbage in my neck of the woods.

Week of Apr 20 – 26
Total Items in Store: 1136 Ebay/Same on Bonanza
Items Sold: 31 eBay, 1 Bonanza
Cost of Items Sold: $40
Gross Sales: $1115Net Sales: $759.07
Number of items listed this week: 79
Highest Price Sold: $139 for a vintage ERTL beef cattle farm toy that I almost threw away by mistake!
I had to buy new clothes at Kohls for a funeral, (the thrifts had nothing appropriate in my size), and almost choked at the prices. My husband said he spent almost $100 on a new shirt and pants. Hello, inflation! Hello, tariffs!
I may start dabbling in flipping clothes if this is how things are going to be. There’s a thrift near me that still sells clothes for 50 cents to $1.00, depending on the color of the week. I hate selling clothes, so maybe I’ll stick with something tolerable, like men’s jeans or women’s skirts.

Women’s skirts is a FLOODED market.
Men’s jeans/pants can be good. Sizing isn’t bonkers like women’s sizing and once men find a specific model/size they’ll buy 20 of them. LOL!
I recommend just strolling through and looking for NWT items poking out of the racks. Your STR will be better. Mall brands NWT are always good for $25.
If you’ve never used the research tools on ebay you should give it a look.
Here is the data for women’s skirts:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/research/sourcing-insights/search/detail/US/63864?marketplace=EBAY-US
Long story short – unless you have something extra special your odds of selling are low unless you price REALLY low – like $10. I stick to unique skirts or mall brand (EX: Banana Republic) NWT skirts.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t think I’ve seen that research tool before. I’ll spend some time playing around with it tonight.
Good to know about skirts. I will probably stick with men’s jeans/pants because like you say, the sizing is straight forward. I lack the patience to fiddle with women’s clothing unless it’s something truly remarkable.

Fingers crossed that our sales will all go up with tariffs. Got to find the silver lining. I think second hand is going to boom. I am hearing there are no cargo ships for months coming to port.

I think you are correct. I’ve been buying a lot of Christmas items and vacuum cleaners to part out. I think a lot of people are going to get a shock when they see how much a new vacuum will cost. Repairing the old one will seem more appealing.

Sales $416/net $279. I haven’t listed in a month. The next two weeks will be busy with non Ebay and trying to make some sense of the garage storage and inventory. I hope to get some listings in as well. Ebay is the angry mistress giving me a smack down. I also have a pop up on Mothers Day in a pretty good location.
