It’s been six months since we last heard from Mikey and Wendy who left this podcast to spend more time on their personal projects and become master Ultra Runners. But they’ve continued to make a living scavenging for eBay and share how they’ve developed a system for selling on the road. We miss these guys! You can see Wendy’s book and Mikey’s electronics kits in their store.

Lots going on in this week’s podcast. We learned a bunch in the comments from all y’all. Had a negative feedback removed. We had a bit of a slow selling week, lots of items, but low prices. It’s always good to move low priced items out though. Don’t forget to check out HealthCare.gov if you need to sign up for insurance. Put politics aside and just do it!

This week we listed, listed and listed. Some of Ryanne’s eye glasses are selling. Hurray. We had some customer issues that some other folks were having as well, so we hashed some of those out in the comments of last weeks post. Thanks everyone! We learned a lot. Remember to check out our mugs and give us a call with comments or questions – (540) 407-8486.

This week was New Years, but that didn’t stop us from hunkering down and just working. Lots of listing going on by our wood stove during the cold rainy and snowy days. We like working when everyone else is holiday-ing and holiday-ing when everyone else is working. We sold some cool stuff this week including a vintage all metal belt sander and some Christian Dior sunglasses. Totally random. Remember you can give us a call to ask a question or make a comment at (540) 407-8486. Also check out our spreadshirt store to buy some mugs like this one- Buy Low, Sell High and Fight The Man. Yeah! Words to live by.
And if you have an excess of stuff you don’t have time to sell, check out Selery run by our friend, Justin. Mail them your stuff, and they’ll do it for you.

Ryanne’s mom, Jena from Jumble & Clutter, sat down with us during the holidays to talk all about fabric. Jena has been making her own clothes since the 60s and has the “expert hand” at feeling out quality fabrics and linens to sell on eBay. We have certainly learned a ton from asking her to help us identify what fabric buyers might be looking for. All in all, we always try to look for all natural materials like wool, silk, linen, cotton and rayon (yes it’s natural, who knew?). Resources mentioned are How to do a burn test, TheBeddingLibrary.com Ralph Lauren pattern site and Tartan Plaid finder.
Jena will hopefully stop by to answer questions in the comments about selling fabric. Thanks Jena!

This week we were visiting family and scavenging in beautiful New York City. Craiglist free section and Housing Works Buy The Bag have given us more than enough to bring home. One of our highest sales at $200 was a wastebasket umbrella stand found in the trash at a very fancy estate sale. Score! Have you found anything super valuable in the trash lately?
