My wife and I are heading to an antique auction tomorrow afternoon. In addition to ebay, we also sell at antique shows from time-to-time, so we get to antique auctions at least two or three times a month.
Looks like there are some decent odds and ends at tomorrow’s sale, and we usually do relatively with this auctioneer. I know we’ll come home with a full load, of what, just depends on who else is there and what they’re bidding on. Could end up with furniture, or a bunch of box lots of small stuff. Where we end up selling stuff just depends on where the best market is, and how big the item is.
We’re travelling next weekend, and I’m going to get to an antique auction on the other side of the country, so I’m pretty interested to see how pricing is there.
Best of luck at yours, Jay & Ryanne!! Hope you’re planning to enjoy an auction hotdog as much as I am!

Love the new forum! Really nice to have things continue on without having to refer back to a specific podcast!
Thanks for all you guys do!
Ugh. Coming off of two or three REALLY slow weeks for me. I think this weekend ebay finally “found me” again, as I had a few decent sales come through.

Returns: 0My wife and I recently opened a second account, primarily for selling untracked items like patches, postcards, slides, etc. That way we can still sell them, without impacting the shipping/handling metrics on our primary account. We’re testing it as “her” store, letting her do everything from start to finish, from listing to shipping, so that she’ll have a good grasp on everything if I take ill, get hit by a bus, etc.
As mentioned above, we’ve had a REALLY slow last two or three weeks, going from one or two sales a day, to one or two sales a week. This is the first time we’ve experienced slowness like this since we really started getting serious about listing back in May or June. Pretty humbling, but we just kept listing, and waiting for it to come back. Fingers crossed it stays through the holiday season now…
