Correct. You can put a lot of information in the SKU if you like. Look at Mike, he has cost, location, and a ton of other items in the SKU.
The first 5 digits are always a unique number. Our SixBit software always needs a unique SKU, so every listing gets a new first number. We have a Google Doc listing of all numbers, and when we create a listing, we add it to the Google Doc to get the next number.
then we use the -<location>. While this is mostly for finding the item, this also helps us in SixBit, as I can see how many items are in each location. I put -SW3 in the top of the grid of all inventory and I can see how many items are stored there. I can use that the do inventory checks as well as to see where I have available space to store new items.
I we also use -PM and -GL to show any items that are crossposted to Poshmark and Grailed (so that when something sells on eBay, I can see to remove them from those sites). Veronica will ALSO put -PTY at the end if an item is prepacked (in the warehouse) so show that she packed it up in a Priority Box (so when we print the label, we make sure we print a Priority label).
For us, pretty good since we just started. Got 100 items up there quick, and sold 8 on Poshmark. Very solid start.
Seems like the Women’s items go better here, so going to focus mostly on womens items on Poshmark, and Men’s items on Grailed.
Yes, we live in Broomfield.
How are you planning to source when you move to Conifer? Not a long drive, but still a drive…
Amen on that. Funny how people think they can say whatever they want when they are anonymous, but don’t say stuff when face to face. Keyboard muscles I guess…
Having class is being genuine and doing the right things, the right way, for the right reasons…when no one is around.
Jay and Ryanne have class…
Greetings from another Coloradoan! Where are you guys living? Close to Denver?
Sure! Best data that you can provide.
I think this would be beneficial to everyone, not only to be able to see similar trends across stores (or even better, when someone goes against the trend), but also to see real numbers for those that want to go full time. Getting that realistic look at what kind of cash is required to purchase and list full time (especially in the early growth stages) and what kind of cash a business model will throw off in the first 3/6/12 months to pay for personal expenses.
Thanks Brian. Great analysis!
I got this on my list. I’ll get to it this week (crazy week around here!) and start a thread with a template file. People can report what they have and we can see what kind of data we get. Once I have that, I can do “Fun with Numbers” and see what kind of info and trends we see…
ThriftShift: Impressive numbers and ROI 20X returns are what we want! 🙂
Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers for Veronica. Much better today, definitely on the upswing. Get past the tests today (hoping no surprises) and then planning the day in a few weeks for the big procedure.
Going to be much better after all of this, and she is in very good hands, just stuff to go through. Good news is she is a strong woman (from a long line of them), so she is looking forward to getting on the other side of all this.
Thanks again for all the good vibes. Love this community for that!
Thanks Mark! She is much better today, best in over a week, about 80%. Next round of doctor visits this afternoon…
I love that concept.
Even better, show each month for the year to have a total so the seasonality can be shown.
Let me see if I can create a Google Sheet that I can share to everyone with a Template to fill in. Then we can graph and extrapolate everyone’s data to see trends…
We haven’t done extra insurance in a long time either. If it was over $200 at this point, we might, but we have saved enough by NOT paying extra that we can afford a hit or two.
Thanks Sharyn!
And yeah, she already has guaranteed to tie for the year as it is! I’ve had some momentum lately, but I’m betting she wins again this year!
