skydog i’d like to meet. I can come to Indy anywhere so let me know when works for you.
Hello, I missed the big meetup y’all had but I’d love to get together again soon. But maybe if someone knows of a town or good neighborhood rummage sale coming up we could all crash it. I’d love to chat with you guys to grow in this business. I’m usually down in North Indy Geist, Fishers on most Fridays hitting garage sales. Let me know if you want to hook up sometime.
I am currently on vacation and trying to scavenge as much as possible but garage sales are usually on the weekends and I’m finding only high prices in antique stores. The flea markets don’t open till Thursday or Friday and I’ve found just a few items at the local goodwill stores in the towns I’ve been thru. But I’d rather stay out of stores and find people selling stuff. Ive been thru West Virginia and currently in Virginia headed to D.C. And then back towards Indiana. Hope I can find something good out here.

Thank you Pam for helping me so much. I wish more of us could meet up so we could sharpen our business together. Thank I think there are many who do sale on eBay but are scared of competition that we hide it. It’s a BIG WORLD!!
I’m coming a long way how bout 10. Give me that extra half hour.. hahaha. Sounds like fun

It was a new in box micro transcriber. I picket it up at a goodwill for 8 bucks, took it home and shot a few pictures. I listed it for 190 dollars plus 10 bucks to ship it. After I hit list it, I got a Cha Ching within like 15 to 20 seconds. I couldn’t believe it. I sent it out a half hour later and I did get positive feedback as well. Crazy stuff but I’m hooked on scavenging. Thank you all for sharing.
Sure coffee sounds great. We can meet up somewhere and then figure out where we want to go. Just name the place and time.
12/27/2016 at 12:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 290: Experimenting with your eBay Store #8892I get the whole buy more expensive things make more money….. it’s easily said but finding them is something different.. you can’t beat good ole ” Bread and Butter”. It’s not like I’m not going to pick up something expensive but if I have taken the time to go to a place to scavenge and I see a 20 dollar bill or 40 dollars laying there in an item I’m going to snatch it up. That’s kinda how I have set my mind on scavenging. If I see something that’s worth 20-30 dollars and I can get it for 2 I ask myself… would I take that 20 dollar bill if it were on the shelf if it was only going to cost me 2. For me the answer is yes. I’m already there I might as well. So if I find 5 items like that I just look at it like I got 100 dollars for 10 bucks. It’s the bread and butter to the occasional Steak you find. Without it it’s not a complete meal and nutritionaly balanced… hahaha.
Yea Noblesville fishers Castelton area. I would like to go further south to see more stores. I like frequently visiting same stores but I’m really wanting to find some of those church ones out of the way of the main stream. January 4th sounds good to me. Just let me know which works best for you. And I’ll be there.
Hello Pam, nice to meet you. I do have a JOB however, I only work 3 days a week and it’s Saturday Sunday and Monday so I’m available most weekdays. I like to hit the goodwills on Wednesday mostly. We could meet at one of the goodwill or another place to scavenge in the area. I have only been to the goodwills on the north side of Indy and the Outlet downtown. I’d like to learn some things from you for sure. Do you know of many other scavengers in our area?
No problem I wasn’t confused at all. I didn’t figure you were from here or that I was the Keith. Just being funny. Or not. I’ve been to a goodwill outlet in Nashville and picked up a few nice things, I try to pick wherever I go. I also had to stop in the American Pickers shop… was disappointed at how commercial it was. Some vintage things to look at but mostly sold souvenirs from the TV show. Happy scavenging to you as well.
I have listened to that podcast Jay, it was very helpful. I’m so thankful for all the information you guys put out there for everyone. Thrifted Sister, There might be more than one Keith in Indiana but it might also be me. I’m not sure how many scavengers there are in Indiana. I would like to find them. I’m in central Indiana an hour north of Indianapolis.
even if they buy and dont pay for like a week or 2.
