Thanks, that was inspiring to read, almost 12k listings! I just reached 1,400 the other day and still growing, so I am little stoked on that.
Cool excel tip: You can use excel for free online if you have a microsoft email account like an old hotmail account or an outlook account. You can save files on the microsoft One drive for free or just save the files to your computer. You do not need to own microsoft office or anything, it is free if you have a microsoft email. https://www.office.com/launch/excel?ui=en-US&rs=US&auth=1
Many of you may already know this, but a nice way to get to talk to someone on ebay is this. Go to Seller Hub, click payments then all transactions on the drop down menu. There should be a list as you know of all your transactions there and there is a blue phone icon over on right (on desktop). Just click that phone icon during normal business hours and retype your phone number in it and click “Call Me” and they will call you back in like 5-25 minutes and just ask what help you need. Yes it’s preferably for managed payment stuff, but I have had them call me a number of times and they have helped or tried to help me with whatever it was, about like when you used to be able to call customer service with a lower level store.
Jay,Ryanne, thanks so much for the podcast, I am glad I got in at the tail end of it the last couple years. I have not found any other podcast on reselling quite like yours, there is often too much ‘hustlin’ or too much of something else on other podcasts. You guys did it just right. Thanks again.
P.S. Mscellaneous that was the best comment.
Handling time (not time away/ vacation mode) can still be changed for up to 30 days.
Good point, make certain it’s your type of oil, etc.
Agree, great episode.
Cool scavenger tip if you change your own oil. If you are garage sale(ing), ask if they have any oil for sale, hopefully your type and you should be able to get great deals sometimes.
05/30/2021 at 11:42 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 516: Being Punk Weirdos Made Us Good At Business #88940In the podcast there was mention of a bill to have high volume sellers reveal address, phone number etc. I am just now looking over what I believe to be the bill, here is a link. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/3431/text
I believe there is exception for the address and phone number if a high volume seller only has a personal phone number and if a high volume seller does not have a business address – it sounds like that wouldn’t be disclosed under this bill, like I said I am just now looking over it (or some of it), please look at Sec. 2 (2) Exception (A) In General.
Scavengers, it appears the Micro Go Round idea has already been thought of, here is a great video, please watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phzZF2meox4&ab_channel=knoptop
I heard you guys mention on the podcast recently about Ebay having videos to sell products. I recall someone mentioning a lazy Susan in a long ago podcast, which could work. There is a thing called a Micro Go Round , it is a wind up thing you put in a microwave if you don’t have one of those rotating plates already in your microwave. Scavengers, do a search on this, this might end up being a great device for rotating product for a video, like footwear etc.
I think counting my blessings consciously or just being aware of it subconsciously perhaps helps keep me from being burnt out. I just enjoy doing it.
Jay, Ryanne, just wanted to give you an update of where I am since I last told you when I signed up for the forum earlier in 2020, I was at around 500 items. My current store count is 929 items and sold a little over $669 this week, not including shipping and before cost etc., yet I also had a return for over 70 dollars, its cool, can just resell it.
@Julie-B , I read your comment earlier and tried to ask on older episode about you mentioning sourcing and driving to Atlanta for two hours. How long is a drive to Chattanooga, TN. I saw they have a goodwill outlet there. Could Goodwill outlet be a viable locale of sourcing for goods you are looking for?
01/01/2021 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 493: eBay Helping Buyers Understand Shipping Delays #84813I had an item that sold on Nov. 25 and shipped USPS that day and did not arrive to them in U.S. (I live in U.S.) until Dec. 24th.
