Ah I forgot to add a stressfull ebay happening this weekend. I sold a vintage tracksuit for $60. I went to pull it Saturday morning…but it was not in the bin I labeled it as being in. I know I never condensed this bin, so it should have been there since originally listed back in March. I checked my sales/returns/unpaid items email history and I’ve never sold this item/had it returned.
There is absolutely no reason it would be anywhere else. So next I went through every bin of clothing I have. It simply wasn’t there! ARRRGGGHHHH!
I went through my whole listed inventory 3 times and decided to contact the buyer as they need it for a costume party next weekend. I searched the rest of my inventory and found another neat looking vintage tracksuit that had the same measurements.I offered to cancel the listing or to offer them the other tracksuit with a partial refund for their troubles. The buyer was happy with the substitute item.
My mood was affected by this lost item all weekend. I HATE when an item goes missing. Typically when I misplace an item I can research and determine where things went wrong. This is the first item where I have absolutely no clue.

I did photograph and list some shoes this weekened and I started creating the listings for a rack of coats/jackets. I want to finish the whole rack this week. The star of the rack so far is a Ralph Lauren corduroy blazer. Similar solds are in the $100-150 range. I’m very excited to get that one listed!
Personally I’ve been sleeping a lot more the last week and a half, which is helping me feel a lot better. More sleep = less time for ebay.
I was really looking forward to getting some work done in my storage areas this fall…unfortunately we didn’t get a fall this year. We went straight from 90 degree days to 50 degree wet nastiness, and finally to frozen 30 degree mornings such as today.
Anyways, I have a goal this week on coats/jackets. Hopefully I can make it happen as I need business to pick up – I need the money!

Companies are already moving manufacturing back to the US. I work for a global pump manufacturer. I work at their main US parts manufacturing plant. This company (Not a US company) is shutting down foreign plants and sending the work to us. The US pump market is way up (water, Oil/gas, industrial)compared to 2016.
Yep, I’ve noticed this too. That’s why I quit promoting my items. I also wonder exactly how an 11% promoted rate item is treated over a 10% item. In the end it seems like a money grab from ebay.
Either way, my sales have not really suffered after dropping promoted listings.
On the app you have to place dimensions. On the computer you don’t have to. I’ve made a habit of always putting dimensions, even for flat rate packaging. This is because I finish on the app and it throws a fit if I have a padded flat rate envelope without dimensions and weight.
This story also came out today:
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/16/china-hidden-local-government-debt-could-be-6-trillion-sp.htmlSo if Trump ends cheap Chinese shipping, then a lot of these Chinese junk manufacturers could go belly up. 6 trillion in debt could be called in a hurry on the Chinese. Ouch…
60% of all packages that enter US are Chinese goods. That is insane.
This should have happened before the tariff battle. I guess it really doesn’t matter though – as China has already ran out of leverage on the tariff front.
I know that if I was full time I would not be on here much. I’m only on here as much as I am because I am a captive in front of a PC for 8 hours a day at work. Lol!
I have trouble getting motivated to list blazers, but I just found my first Burberry blazer. I want to get that bad boy listed Stat! I also got a NWT Crittenden Seersucker blazer.
I strongly discourage you from doing hourly rate. Honestly, I discourage you from participating at all. These kinds of things tend to turn into a total cluster…
If I were you, I’d let it be known that once everyone is done I would come in and remove the “junk”. This way you are free and clear and can get the great stuff that everyone else thinks is trash.

I guess I’m going to have to start writing in Word and copying/pasting.
Anyways, ebay is on the back-burner. I only shipped this week. $500 for 2.5 hours of work is good stuff! That’s the beauty of this business: I can front load all the work when I have time. Then when a week like this comes up I can do minimal work and still reap the rewards. Ebay will stay on the backburner until I finish up a few house projects.
