Gross Sales: $2,168.32 (Items actually PAID for: $1004.32 ….. yea that kind of thing is super frustrating. It would be pretty great if Ebay would so something to curb the none payment issue… maybe like an Ebay credit score or something for buyers. Personally I have gotten away from the best offer and will do pay now unless i have an auction — but like most people i am sure i go back and forth.
Looking forward to listening to the podcast as usual. My numbers are below. I have been offering free shipping somewhat which got me to taking a slightly different view of my weekly reporting. Hope everyone is having a good week and doing well with Holiday excitement and chaos!
11/25/18-12/1/18
Total items in store (beginning of week): 540

Gross Sales: $356.95
Cost Paid for Items sold: $19.69
Shipping Cost: $93.33
Ebay Fee’s: 32.23
Paypal Fees: 13.04
Total Costs: 158.29
Net Profit: 218.35
Profit % Rev: 61%
ROI: 1109%So my numbers are slightly inflated this week as i realize as i write this that my cast iron legs had ‘free shipping’ in them — so my actual numbers have a 20 something shipping cost… Lately i have been trending towards the “free shipping” — the goal being to actually sell for a higher price. Anyway, i should change the way i report my numbers to myself and the forum to make sure i do not have inflated dollar amounts
Hit some nice sales this week and did a good job listing. Have some more nice ticket items to post this week as well. Nice podcast this week — i think starting out as an internet business as a base and then going to retail potentially as it makes sense is the new normal. If you do go ahead with it i am looking forward to following your venture.

New items listed: 17That’s good to hear. If I go the 3 or 5 day / save gas forget top rated direction I may dump free returns as well.
That is good to hear. 3 days may be a good amount as well…
So as i continue to plug away as a “part time” ebay business i am contemplating the idea of changing my handling time to 5 days permanently. Not sure yet, but since it seems like buyers keep buying when i do so for work travel, and being that the cost savings on gas to the post office would off set the ever shrinking benefit of being a top rated seller, the concept seems kind of appealing.
Anyway normal week – despite my efforts to source bigger my sales of been small dollar last few weeks – kind of have to laugh at my self there a little. Have not listen to the podcast yet but looking forward to it

Speedy recovery!
So I was away all last week – so I did not list much and my store was on 5 day handling. Relative to my inventory size sales kept up well transaction wise, average sale was pretty low however (highest sale was only 30 bucks.) Spent about 500 bucks sourcing this weekend and have a lot of inventory to list. Also had a first this past week — i have a woman (think it i a female) requesting for a partial refund PRIOR to receiving an item – complaining about an imagined hole in the handbag that she seems to think my finger is covering up in my picture. Not sure where she got that impression as I list out any flaws pretty straight forwardly and there is no hole, so maybe she has been burned a lot by sellers… or maybe she is on of those petty scammers. Not a big deal either way – she can return if she wants, any time things are a bit fishy i take the partial refund off the table right away but leave full refund for any reason after the item gets back on the table.

New items listed: 2I use the custom field on eBay to track the cost (under subtitle) Today I bought, for example, 115 items for 110 dollars. On the custom field I put .96 cents for each. It’s pretty easy to pull that number each week. If I sell some of them as a lot I just use .96 for each item.
10 sales this week versus 7 last week – pretty cool. I could totally get used to shipping once a week : )
