Makes no sense to me. Never has. Why doesn’t eBay automatically format our listings to look right on mobiles?? If you don’t select their little crappy Mobile Friendly Checker, your listings are barely readable on phones. Tiny print.
I’ve been selling on eBay for almost 20 years. I’m a part-timer. I keep about 350 items in my store. I opened a Poshmark account about 3 weeks ago, just to try it out. I’ve listed about 75 pairs of shoes. Sales have been pretty decent. What I love about Poshmark is the listing process. I can list 5 items in the time it takes me to list one on eBay. Really simple. Also, the shipping process is a breeze. No calculating weights and shipping, (for light items – clothes). No question the selling process is much easier than eBay. Some social-media-style interaction is required. But I don’t find that to be a big deal. Certainly, a teenager should have no problem with the social media aspect. If you are selling clothes, I recommend you give Poshmark a try.
I am a part-timer on eBay but have been selling since 1999 with a couple of different stores. I have about 500 listings, typically. I opened an ETSY store in 2013 and listed duplicates of my vintage stuff for about 18 months. After that, I closed the ETSY store. I found ETSY was only accounting for about 10% of my sales. The extra listing time just didn’t seem worth it. I know ETSY has grown in popularity since 2013, so I’m wondering if it might be worth giving it another go. Does anyone have duplicate listings (vintage stuff) and a comparison of sales between their ETSY & eBay stores? Thx.
