Congrats to you two for being consistent and reaching 500 episodes. The issue that I see with eBay dropping Parcel Select is that you won’t be able to ship flammable items anymore with USPS. Parcel Select is ground service and all the other USPS services, excluding media mail, potentially goes onto an airplane. So sellers who sell perfume, cologne, alcohol, etc., will have to redo their shipping policies for those items to use UPS or FedEx ground. I guess FedEx smart post would be an option as well. Just my thoughts.

Your story was interesting condsidering your brick and mortar was probably 10 years ahead of its time. I can’t find hardly any vintage clothing in the resell shops these days since most are sold at a much higher price than I’d pay to resell.
I went with my dad back in the late 70’s on a lay led revival to Elyria OH. It was a very pretty area and I spent a week there with him.
Hope you enjoy and will get to contribute to the forum. It’s helped me a lot in my journey.
MichaelI stumbled across this topic and it sent me down a long rabbit hole looking at settings on eBay for my account. I too only have the US box checked on “List on these worldwide eBay sites” preference.
I do FP with BO on most all my listings and I use the GSP exclusively for international sales. I have made several international sales to the UK, Greece, Japan, Mexico and Canada over the last year. So I’m wondering why I would want to turn on other countries sites if this is already happening? I do not exclude any countries in my shipping preferences since GSP will bear the responsibility if something were to happen. And I believe GSP automatically culls the countries to which my item cannot ship due to weight, category exemptions, etc.
Jay- Did I understand from your reply that you did turn on all sites except India? And if so, have you seen any of the international funds showing up in your PayPal account like Inglewood was seeing or are they still USD? And one last question, are you being charged any of the international eBay site fees for listing, selling, etc.
I did take Inglewood’s advice to search several of the international eBay sites and found my items appearing on them.
Thanks!10/05/2018 at 6:52 pm in reply to: Is there an Ebay glitch adding Best Offer to everything newly listed right now? #49672Well… for me it was just the opposite today. I was using the app to add photos to around 25 drafts that I had created on my PC. I have “Best Offer” on probably 95% of my listings. Today, everything I listed went live from the app WITHOUT best offer being turned on. I caught it quickly and found a work around.
I have the IOS ebay app, latest version (hate it!!), and what I found is to open the draft in the app, and then immediately click “Close”. Then reopen the same draft again and it reverts back to the older app version. IDK why this happened but I am glad that it did. After doing this, all the rest of the drafts I added photos to were correctly listed with “Best Offer”in the price.
Jay- If we do it, I’ll let you know.
Almasty- I have probably listed over 700 items total in the last year. I currently have 350 or so active right now. My store is about 70% industrial and 30% other items. I feel if I only focus on one income stream and not both, I could be losing revenue. My goal is to have a minimum of 1,000 items in my store by the end of the summer.Jay- I occasionally buy now and then, but only if it’s one of those once in a lifetime deals that I just can’t pass up. As for the farming, initially I wanted to start a truffle farm but I’ve since put that on the back burner. The financial commitment up front to prepare the land and purchase the truffle spore infused trees is over $20k per acre. It’s also not proven enough yet that truffles will be produced in my knock of the woods. I’ve also considered growing strawberries. The land was onced used for growing those back in the 1970’s. This region is known for producing high quality berries. My son studied solar energy as part of his degree and he is interested in starting a solar farm for generating electricity for our needs and selling back to TVA.
Terri- Thank you for the reading recommendation. I’ll definitely check it out.
I was able to acquire more than 75 various sized, heavy duty moving boxes, along with all of the packaging paper for free on Craigslist. It took me driving 40 minutes to get them, breaking them all down, putting the packaging paper in bags, and three trips to haul everything in my pickup. It has been well worth the effort. I’ll have enough packaging paper for all that I’ll ship this entire year. I store the paper in 33 gallon black plastic lawn and leaf bags. All of those are stuffed into two Gaylord boxes and covered with a tarp under my carport. I store an assortment of the boxes at my house and the rest are in a storage locker about 10 minutes away. I keep a list of what sizes I have in storage, what each box weighs when totally stuffed with paper, and I use that list to help me whenever I am guesstimating the shipping charges for eBay listings.
MichaelThe first name i believe is “Oliver” but the last is the harerd one. Last name possibly starts with either an “L” or “M” and ends with maybe “lland”???
