Because I’ve listed all morning, and every single listing has ended up with a best offer with auto decline of half of my listing price on it. These aren’t items I’d ever put best offer on and I never use auto accept or auto decline. I’ve caught quite a few as I listed, but missed some too and had to go back and revise them. I ended up editing my entire store to remove best offer from all listings just in case. Crazy. Has anyone else noticed this?
If I matters, I make my listings on the computer, but take pics and list from the phone.

This glitch comes and goes with me as I list items. It’s a annoyance to fix, but the worst case is you will get an offer.
I list on my computer – from what I can tell, it’s just something to pay attention to when you list to see if the Best Offer box is ticked. I’m not sure why it happens (I tend to copy items that don’t have Best Offer in the first place) but it’s a good reminder to pay attention when you list. I know I’ll go through 5-10 listings before I notice it on all of them and have to go back and correct and pay attention for the rest of the listings in that sitting.

Yes, I just noticed that on my iPhone today, it’s happening very time I list an item.
Also, the choice of 30 days or GTC is gone, but I checked my listings on a computer today and they were all GTC.-

I wonder if the disappearance of 30 day listings is to keep people from doing “sell similar” to trick the algorithm every 30 days? This Best Offer thing is annoying. Sometimes it doesn’t even look like it’s being added but then I check my computer and see it on the listing.

Yes, I’ve listed a few things today, and I’m seeing the issue with best offer.
I’m also seeing an issue has to do with listing through the iphone app. I upload the photos to the listing using the phone, and then finish on the computer. I get an error that the photos are too small (don’t have enough pixels) for a good listing. When I take those exact same photos and download them from the cloud, eBay has no problem with them. I was having this issue several weeks ago, but it was fixed.
Very frustrating.

So people are listing and NOT checking “make offer”, but it gets enabled anyway?

Correct, on the app there is a place to uncheck it but it seems the default now is clicked on for accepting offers.

Huh, that is a bug if its hardcoded to only accept offers. Unless Im misunderstanding and Make Offer is on by default, and you just need to remember to uncheck it.

I’m unchecking it on the computer, making sure it’s not checked on the app and it’s still showing up on the listings. Super annoying. Once I go back in and revise it it’s gone. I have an android, not an iphone. It’s Best Offer and “decline offer under (half of BIN price)” that are checked.
Earlier in the week I had the “not enough pixels” photo bug, but thankfully that seems to be over.

Well… for me it was just the opposite today. I was using the app to add photos to around 25 drafts that I had created on my PC. I have “Best Offer” on probably 95% of my listings. Today, everything I listed went live from the app WITHOUT best offer being turned on. I caught it quickly and found a work around.
I have the IOS ebay app, latest version (hate it!!), and what I found is to open the draft in the app, and then immediately click “Close”. Then reopen the same draft again and it reverts back to the older app version. IDK why this happened but I am glad that it did. After doing this, all the rest of the drafts I added photos to were correctly listed with “Best Offer”in the price.

Best Offer is automatically being added to all my new listings, for at least the last 2 days, when I don’t want that feature and am not selecting it. I’ve gotten two offers from potential buyers so far, before I could catch those errors.
I create drafts on the computer, and complete them via the phone with photos, but I’m not sure that matters. I know there have been a few I’ve saved back as drafts after taking photos, to tweak something, then make live via the computer. I have to go back to each listing and revise it, unchecking that function. So. Annoying.
I also “love” that when listing via the app, I now have to go through 2 eBay promotional service screens about discount pricing and promotions before I can click Done on the listing process.
Has anyone else already called about this issue? I might call tomorrow, to see if its a new “feature” or a glitch. I’ll let them know my vote!

On the iPhone app you can uncheck the best offer but it’s automatically checked each time I list an item.
The duration is also set or checked to 30 days and the option will disappear before your eyes and change to the best offer option. Weird.

I list through Inkfrog, so haven’t experienced this issue, but based on the message I received from Ebay today, my guess is that they changed it to default by design.
“There are a number of tools available to you to make the most out of your eBay business. One of the easiest tools to implement is the Best Offer feature. This feature enables your customers to make an offer on your fixed price listing.
Add Best Offer to your listings and increase your chance of selling by 7%*.
Besides increasing your selling chances, this feature provides you these selling advantages:
• Automatically accept or reject offers.
• Make counter offers to get the best price.
• Receive and choose from multiple offers.
• Negotiate with your buyers safely and securely.
This small change can drastically improve your sales, try adding it to your listings today.
Good luck, and as always, thank you for selling with us!”
