Oh yes I should have been more specific! I wanted to order some beans and I wasn’t sure which ones to go with for cold brew.
Is this replacing the terms like Mid Century Modern/Deco/Country Folk etc?
The top one (2014) is $51 and the bottom (2013) is $12.85.
5 – I’m a mess but I keep chugging forward!
I’m not usually a participation ribbon type of person, but I think in that situation it would be okay. If most of the people are participating I would say no, but if you aren’t getting a lot of participation, or consistent participation, I would say 1 point for those that are trying is okay. I would also suggest to maybe up 1st, 2nd, and 3rd points by even a point or two if you do decide to give out a participation point.
That is my feeling, but I am okay either way.
08/08/2020 at 6:09 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 474: How Do We Only Sell High Priced Items All The Time? #80470When I started out I would help my friends out with consigning for them and I would take a %. I got too stressed out because I would worry I wouldn’t be selling it for enough, taking a long time, or whatever reason. Most recently my SIL was getting rid of some American Girl stuff. I knew that it would make a good bit of money and I was going to suggest me helping her out, but I didn’t want to deal with the stress. I decided to just buy it for what she wanted. I’m still going to make money, and probably more than what my % commission, and I don’t have to deal with the stress or pressure. If I end up making a lot of money off the items I will probably give her a cut of it, but I did not let her know because she won’t be expecting it. She knows that I’m going to flip the items and she is happy with what I paid. So all around everyone is happy and everyone made money. Obviously you can’t do that with a huge lot, but just a different way of handling “consigning for your friends.”
I listed a total of 23 last week – 8 Christmas Total for the month
So I didn’t get as much done as I wanted for Monday Madness – but I did get 8 Christmas items listed!
14 for the week no Christmas items. I am hoping to get some up in the next few days.
25 this week – no Christmas. I’m planning on putting up some Christmas stuff here shortly. I hope everyone is doing well and have a great week!
I did 12 this week – nothing last week sorry about not updating. I’m still working on getting stuff figured out and home in the right order.
Thank you for this Almasty – I didn’t think about the series thing, but I am making note of that in case I ever come across a lot of something as well.
I have had a few project lots, as I call them, and I have done the individual and lot sales. It becomes a problem when you start thinking of only those and messing with the way you are selling them. Like going back and forth with lots, spending a lot of time researching etc. It almost becomes like an albatross just hanging around taking your thoughts off of other possible sales.
What I found is that I picked out a few of the most valuable items and then sold the rest as a big lot. I’m sure I lost money, but once that lot was out the door I couldn’t fiddle with it anymore and waste time on the “what if” aspect. Just think about the time you would invest, how long it will sit, and what is the profit that you would actually make. Estimate how much you would make per hour. What are you looking at in profit (rough estimate) and divide by how long you estimate you will take on researching, listing, and packing.
It’s hard but you have to be honest with yourself if it is really worth forgoing listing and researching other items for how much ever profit you think you may make. I have to remind myself of this on almost a daily basis. I don’t know if I helped at all but good luck with whatever you choose. I don’t think there is really a wrong answer unless you find you would make $1/hour.
I have tried to do backgrounds, but if I have to set anything up I end up getting distracted and being perfect. I get distracted when my background has some fuzz on it! I bought a little lightbox and it works great for a lot of items. It’s not a super expensive professional one, but it works for me.
I’m not implying that small sellers should take worse photos. What I am talking about is when you can’t tell if you are going to be buying the legit product or something from Alibaba. Small sellers can sell from them as well, but when I see the exact same picture from thirty sellers I know I’m not looking at the actual item that I will receive.
