But figured I would throw my numbers up in the meantime! It is a good reminder that I need to get back on track!!!!

We had 3 buyers request delayed shipment. Ebay assured us this
would be okay if we called and had defect removed as long as we had
a message from buyer.
We had a buyer intentionally return the wrong item, we opened a case
and ebay sided with the buyer. If we hadn’t opened a case we could
have done a partial refund. Once case is opened we no longer have that
option. Frustrating.Thank you, the flower design is in relief, and the word celadon has gotten me closer, THANK YOU!

12/18/2018 at 9:27 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 390: Building a Business to Build a Life #53602Thanks for the feedback, I have never had luck lotting some of the low value items, have you? For example, I have found if I have a lot of china, silverware, or jewelry, the odds of it selling are considerably higher. Generally I also get a higher dollar amount. I have experimented with this over the years, maybe there are some tricks about lotting things up that I don’t know of!

Love your take on this, I have definitely been able to have flexibility and that is why I love doing this! I always thought I would like to be able to seperate home and work, but maybe I should just integrate better.

Number of items listed this week: 144A little disappointing this week for ebay numbers, but we did set up
a booth at our local antique mall, so that took up some time (and we ended those
listings). Similar to Ryanne and Jay, I need to hit 1K a week to live comfortably, so cool!I have been saying that we want to increase our ASP, but . . . I got a ton of
costume jewelry from a good consignor (mixed high and low end). We do provide the service
of going through lots that consignors don’t want to deal with. I have been struggling to decide
what to list (price limit) and it seems to make sense to list the low dollar items when they
come in a lot with high end. We have to sort and classify anyway . . .they do become our
inventory if they don’t sell in 60 days. Thoughts?Yes, I think this is what I am going with. Thank you for your help!
LOL, great idea! What makes you think it is chinese?
All they knew is it was sold to them as an antique wig stand. I don’t think it is, more of an art glass piece as you suggest, but I am struggling to identify and find a comp so I can price it.
Those are some really impressive numbers! I am finding that promoted listing are working well for clothing and moving some of the items that are higher end best.
Thanks for sharing, I would love to get to your ASP, glad to see it is possible!I heard a speaker say we should change our way of thinking from:
sales – expenses = Profitto
Profit= sales – expenses
Yes, it is just semantics, but . . I know I want to set 5% aside, and I think about that first. Then control my expenses. It seems like such a silly small thing, but it worked for me!I am newish too! Welcome!
Yes, we have had this happen with a few items and it is so frustrating. Basically, ebay had to contact the manufacturer that reported the violation. They requested very specific photos, and eventually said yes, the items were real and we could relist. In both cases, they said that the manufacturer (Tiffany and Fendi) reported the violations because they couldn’t tell for sure! We had authenticated these items . . . so we were sure. It took about a week to get back up and running, and probably the equivalent of an 8 hour workday on the phone trying to resolve it.
