I am sure buyers are aware of this feature. They will keep asking and asking and asking questions. I know that what they truly want is an offer for a lower price. I guess I should give an offer but I get stubborn. Which is probably only hurting me.
Look forward to seeing how your experiment works!
I do it and ignore it when it is done on my previous listings. Like you, some of my listings I take a lot of time to get everything accurate and describe in a way to make it stand out. Most of the items I sell a commodity items. Yet I have some truly vintage items that are very hard to come by. Its the Amazon format. And eBay is heading that way more and more each day. If I copy someone else’s description, I make it my own. Generally its just a template to get going on my own thoughts.
Anger just zaps your energy. Which could be better put to use listing, buying or enjoying life.
Thanks 🙂
I should have originally posted this under Selling on Etsy. I would delete here if possible. Sorry
Awesome week for you! Yes very hard to find high dollar return items.
Thank you J&R for experimenting with Amazon FBA and taking us along for the journey. It was something that in the back of my head, I kept thinking I should try. I didn’t think it was the right fit for me. Now I know for sure its not!
It was a Royal Bayreuth Pitcher and it sold for almost $3,700. It had cracks and chips. All disclosed. Now I look at Royal Bayreuth and I think they most you can get for that type of pitcher is $400.

I am so sorry for your loss. Will keep you in my thoughts and sending you at least my emotional support for the journey ahead. You and your family worked so hard and went through so many changes and then this loss. Words cannot express.
Well about 15 years ago, I listed an item. Within hours the priced soared. I had people messaging me and saying you know who is bidding on it right? NO Anyhow it was my highest item I have ever sold. The highest bidder was a woman that owned a stock brokerage house. She also owned thoroughbred horses. Famous for both. I think she was in Tennessee. She actually called me and we talked for a bit. I think I was so floored by the sale, that I was nonplused by her being famous. We didn’t have Google Maps back then. I’m sure I would have Googled her address and do a drive by.
I’ve given myself permission to not do any eBaying for the month of January. Not exactly true, but I am only listing when I want to. If I get stressed, I stop. Of course still mailing out sold items. Always happy when something sells.
One account I have on eBay is from 1997. I actually started within about 6 months of its creation. At first you didn’t have to have an account to buy or sell. I believe in 1997 is when they started requiring you sign up for an account.
I collected cookie jar and go-withs. So I bought and traded on the Antique Trader. It was a classified publication for antiques and collectibles. I heard about eBay from cookie jar dealers in New York and California. At first it was just a good place to find items. Not to sell. That quickly changed.
I understand 🙂
Just my Fibro Fog Brain has a harder time following this format. Its like reading a thick book as compared to a Reader’s Digest story.
Love the podcast!
Happy New Year

I completely understand! Yes I cannot do two things at once. Which drives me crazy because before the illness set in, I’d be doing four things at once and my brain would keep up. So I kind of beat myself up for not having the capacity to produce the way I would before.
I think I may try to go for around 500 to 600 listings, but feel they have to have a chance to actually sell. For instance I have some great books that have been on there over a year. I just think that the chance of them selling is close to nil at this point. Let’s put it this way, if I see that type of book, even at 50 cents, I walk away.
Have a healthy and prosperous New Year!
Cool!
So why couldn’t you just use FB?
Wasn’t exactly sure where to ask this question. Why don’t you just have a Facebook page? I know you started in the blogging world first. Yet you wouldn’t have to pay anything to keep it up and running. Aversion to it? Other reasons I cannot think of?
