Maybe I missed it, but did anyone else try turning on the RMA numbers for returns? I’d love to hear more about the experience!

06/11/2018 at 8:06 am in reply to: File Exchange v. Wonder Lister/Six Bit/Other eCommerce Management Platform #42110Jay said, “$2 an item is roughly what we pay.” Could you please clarify what that covers? I’d love to come up with a piece-rate (with a per hour minimum, of course).
It covers(?):
Photo taking and cropping
Title writing
Description drafting
Posting to scheduled status
And does not cover(?):
Research
Pricing
Final approval, live submission
ps: love you guys, want to explore inkfrog more, and I’m one of those still selling the bulk of my items on Amazon.Well Sam, sorry not to have met you a year ago when you first posted this! Jay mentioned “file exchange” on this week’s podcast, reminding me of the work I wanted to make a simple front end for listing using Android, Tasker, and sqlite. I got stuck because I couldn’t figure how to make a working sample, nor could I find one online. Would you please share a sample upload with me, if you have it?
I’m Jim Comeau and my wife and I run a four-bay garage sale in Maine, complete with blueberry orchard. We sell on eBay, Amazon, and other venues. I work a full-time job with a full commute, and am a technician of sorts. My long term goal is to become a publisher, and the idea of making basic reseller tools available cheaply very much appeals to me.
I bought one and have way too much LED glare in it. The diffuser is a cheap cloth mesh. I believe I could fashion another one with the same form factor, any suggestions for material? Even though it’s LED, it’s a little warmer than I’d like to use wax paper.
05/31/2017 at 9:44 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 312: Is eBay Removing Old listings? #18823I feel for the call-in guy that thought it was great that his items were being shown to him in eBay ads, only to find out his actions were being tracked through cookies. When it first started happening to me, I was perplexed, then paranoid, now a little amused by the whole thing. But WHY did I have to look up that Hello Kitty nightlight? Make them go AWAY!

Kitchen and household stuff, very boring except the high competition keeps me interested chasing prices. About half my books made it through the purge, large format books are not usually worthwhile anymore. There are a few small cookbooks that I sell over and over, and keep my eye out for any that get put up by ebay or Amazon Merchant Fulfilled sellers. My real love is music, for which I am approved but no new sellers are allowed now. I had another huge purge in that category recently when Sony had Amazon kick off the third party sellers. I have 700 vinyl LPs to go through, and about 1/3 of it is FBA-worthy. I expect slow sales, priced at $20 per I might be able to keep them on a full year before pulling them to eBay. Also we’ll be making a stab a putting up vintage cookware, though that will take a lot of care and research. Cheers!
I wanted to say thank you, too! As a part-time seller I started to put some serious effort into Amazon just before you started with them. Following your journey I found myself going through or having just gone through the same things you were. Because you knew what was important as a seller you were finding things I hadn’t, like where to look for returns. Last October when the major changes came I could see you likely weren’t going to stay with it, and I had to do some serious thought about my business model. I did stay, glad I did, but I’m doing things a lot differently now. Anyway, I’ve got into a groove with it, and now I’ll be turning my main attention back to eBay and the local game. Thanks for all you do, especially your experimentation! — Jim Comeau
