Hi Jay and Ryanne, After listening to me go on an on about you guys and your ebay biz and airbnb rentals my husband has gotten inspired to renovate a stone cottage that he and his family own. We actually lived in the house for about 4 years when we first got married. But since we moved out almost 10 years ago the family hasn’t really been using it and it has fallen in to disrepair. So he decided that it is a waste for it to just sit there and it could potentially make us money. We believe that the original part of the house was built in 1833. Here are a few pictures of the main room already in demo mode. He uncovered a fireplace and closet we didn’t know were there. I’ll keep you posted on the project.

08/16/2017 at 2:01 pm in reply to: Customer Complaining about fake hair in package of bra reicieved #21883Well I ended up apologizing if there was a fake hair I asked it it could have been the faux fur from the backdrop. She said it was a long black hair from a wig or weave. Well no one here has long dark hair or wears a wig. So I told her to return it if she doesn’t want it. Then she has sent a picture. She says she going to wash it and keep it. So I’m just ignoring any other messages from her. And I blocked her.
06/07/2017 at 1:27 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 313: What’s your Backup Plan to eBay? #19138First off I like to thank Jay and Ryanne for putting out this podcast every week. You guys were one of the first ebayers on youtube I found that help me figure out this whole resale thing.
Last week was the best week I’ve had selling on ebay in my 2 1/2 years on ebay.
I’ve been selling a lot of plus size bras that I’ve been able to purchase wholesale and they are selling quickly and for a decent price.
I am how ever having a issue with the variation listings. About a month ago I had a bra sell that I was out of stock of in that size. So I thought ok I must have made a mistake and I canceled the sale and took the defect. No big deal since it was my only defect. I then went back through all my inventory and double check it against what was showing available on ebay. No issues. Then today I was packaging up my sales for the day and I couldn’t find a size bra that had sold. Went through the inventory twice nothing. So I looked up the purchase history and that size had sold already and shouldn’t have been able to be purchased again. I called ebay and spoke with customer service and they said as a 1 time courtesy they will let me cancel without a defect. I just finished going through the inventory again and found two more bras showing as available when they should be showing out of stock. Is anyone else having similar issues when using the variations in their listings? I would hate for this to happen again, and I don’t want to have separate listing for each size since I have so many. I guess the only other thing I can do is check the listing after one sells to make sure that it took one away from the listing.
Thank you both so much. Having the correct name is great. I don’t plan on selling it. But I did want to know more about him.

05/09/2017 at 10:59 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 309: Scrapping and Parting – Interview w/ Eric in Ottawa Canada #17661Always love hearing about other home schoolers doing ebay. Fellow homeschooler here.
It happened again. I mixed two hats up. Customer A messages me on Sunday that they received a different hat then what they had ordered. Okay I messed up again this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks. So I message customer B to let them know that they received an incorrect hat as well. I ask customer A if he is willing to send on to customer B and have customer B mail him his hat. Customer A doesn’t want to do that he doesn’t want customer B to have his address and ask me to send him a label. Okay no problem so I tell Customer A to just initiate a return and select wrong item sent. Customer A seems happy with that solution, yet has yet to open a return. And Customer B hasn’t replied to my message and appears they are a freight forwarding company. So I am at a lost as what to do next. Just wait or reach out again to my customers.
Before I left the corporate world. I have worked in several call centers. And it just blows my mind that a huge company like ebay doesn’t have call logs so that any other customer service rep can see what you have called in before about. It also blows my mind that ebay’s customer service reps give out such gross miss information and you can get different answers from different reps for the same questions. It should be standard across the board. Another little pet peeve of mine is the anchor store phone line. It seems to me that they are giving better customer service to higher paying customers. Ebay wouldn’t like it if I only gave the highest quality service to the customer who only buy my high price items. Ebay expects me to give the same high quality customer service to all my customers and I expect ebay to treat their sellers the same.
This just happened to me too. Although the word Velcro was sewn in the tag on hat and was the only reason why I used the word. Guess I’ll just relist without that word.
No, they have not paid yet. I’ve contacted the customer who paid and is receiving the wrong item that I’ve sent the correct one to them this morning. I’m kinda hoping the other customer doesn’t pay and I can just have the paying customer just return to me. But if the non paying customer pays I’ll have the customer who did pay send to the other customer.
Ok so this was bound to happen. This is the first time I’ve done it. I sent the wrong hat to a customer. They haven’t received it yet . I just sent out this morning. The hat I sent them is for another customer who hasn’t paid yet. So should I ask for them to send it back to me or wait and see if the other customer pays and have them ship to correct customer?
My best scavenge of the week was also Dungeons and Dragons NOS party napkins. I bought them at a goodwill both for .59
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1980s-Dungeons-and-Dragons-2-packs-of-Paper-Party-Napkins-NOS-CA-Reed-/322446042385?rd=1Is there a chart somewhere with the new prices? I know it went up about 4%. The charts ebay provided are too confusing.
Yeah I decided the $3 bucks I paid for it wasn’t worth the hassle and just told her to keep it and refunded. She left a glowing feedback.
