I’ve done this before – the weirdest is we had a sale and the address was a correctional facility. We looked up the guys name and he is serving life+ for several murders…yikes!

eBay doesn’t verify your phone number, so technically you can put any number in you want if you are concerned.
02/01/2018 at 9:19 am in reply to: Looks like Ebay is partnering up with another Payment Processor #31808eBay seems to have a shelf life with payment processors – the first was Billpoint, then they bought PayPal and merged Billpoint into it.
eBay shares were buoyed by PayPal, and they split it off. eBay must not have much equity in PayPal at the moment to want to get involved with another processor.
I know a lot of people who don’t like oddball payment systems for online purchases – hence why they trust various debit, credit card, or Apple/Google branded services. Hopefully eBay gets some trust around Adyen before it is the “preferred” or promoted option.
I also feel that some storage businesses “create” lockers with random junk to auction off as a source of income, or “stage” them with a few good items out front, and junk/nothing in the hidden boxes.
I’m surprised they aren’t changing the name. I always thought that renaming a team was a big merchandise seller,
Just some NBA teams over the past few years such as the Washington Bullets renaming themselves the Wizards, the New Jersey Nets moving to Brooklyn and there redesign, and the confusing Charlotte Hornets moving to New Orleans (Hornets) and playing in Oklahoma City (Hornets) after Hurricane Katrina for a few seasons and back to New Orleans as the Hornets, then renaming themselves the New Orleans Pelicans; at the same time Charlotte got a new team called the Bobcats and then when New Orleans renamed themselves the Pelicans, Charlotte became the Hornets again…all these changes brought out collectors and fans buying new merchandise and stocking up on the old.
I live by a couple that is on the Canadian version of “Storage Wars” and they have a retail location where they auction boxes of pre-collated junk. I’m always surprised that people go to their auctions and bid on a box that has been thoroughly gone through by someone who makes a living picking and re-selling items.

Just random official team scarfs (3), a collector’s plate, mittens (2 pairs), hats (2), and a towel.
I have only a few Olympic pins left.
Guess with the games coming up in a few weeks, people are interested in older items from the past.
01/30/2018 at 10:20 am in reply to: Got a phone call from a customer – and fascinating panicky offer behavior! #31632I had a buyer call me once with a similar situation – they recently moved, but forgot to change their address in eBay and I sent an item (old Super 8 film projector) to there old address.
I was able to work out with the post office to get the item flagged and returned to me.
By weird coincidence, the buyer moved to the same neighborhood my parents live in about 2 hours away – I was just happening to visit my parents that upcoming week and arranged for him to drop by and pick up the item when I was there. The projector was my parent’s in the first place as well – it travelled a lot for no reason!
I’m shocked that it’s 2018 and it still exists…even more shocking to me is that the NFL team in Washington still insists on using a racist name.
I know that there is an ongoing lawsuit in Toronto where Indigenous First Nations groups are trying to ban Cleveland from wearing the “Chief Wahoo” logo in Toronto when they play here – maybe everywhere will see it gone.
Here is a GSP example as it would look on my Canadian eBay account:

The GSP fees are clearly shown to a buyer based on the country they are buying from on the listing. They are broken down into additional shipping and import charges for the buyer to see. I just don’t like how small they are on a listing compared to the pricing and original shipping costs to get to Erlanger, KY. eBay doesn’t provide a total, which is frustrating for me when comparing items as I have to add 4 numbers together (item cost + U.S. Shipping + GSP Shipping + Duties) to see what I may be spending.
Where I live, Goodwill has a spin-off bookstore concept called “Goodies”.
It has a Starbucks environment, with all the books very organized, and at higher then usual Goodwill pricing (usually half the original printed book cost).
They might be saving books for there “Goodies” stores?
As someone who buys using the Global Shipping Program, I think there is confusion over the wording eBay uses. It should be the “Global Shipping and Customs Program” as it also includes customs charges (taxes/duties) that are collected ahead of time so you don’t have to pay them when the item is delivered.
Buyers are paying the following when they use GSP:
1. Shipping from the origin to Erlanger, KY
2. Shipping from Erlanger to their country (in my case, it goes to just outside Toronto)
3. Customs/Duties/Taxes to bring it across the border
4. Repackaging/Labeling to ship within their home country
5. Shipping from home country warehouse to their addressTherefore, you are paying for multiple shipping/handling/customs points during a GSP shipment to get it to you without hassle.
In my opinion, if something I can’t get in Canada is available GSP and I need to pay a bit more in GSP fees to get it to me, it is worth it.
People are use to very cheap shipping or free shipping from mass retailers. They don’t understand how eBay works or that low-volume shippers don’t get the same rates.
I also hate at the post office when you have someone in front of you arguing rates with the post office wasting everyone’s time.
The one thing I don’t like with calculated shipping on eBay is that they don’t include your shipping rates – they use the most expensive rate instead of any discounts you may have. For example, I get 27% off shipping with the post office based on the volume I sent in 2017. This 27% is not removed from the shipping cost that eBay calculates.
To me this artwork represents the struggle of alcohol addiction.
The balloons represent a group of people who are outside the box, in that they do not consume alcohol and left out of situations because of their addictions/choices.
The childish doll against the bottle of alcohol represents the struggle of the outsider, represented by the balloons, to keep their children, and the next generations away from the allure of alcohol. The doll, being beside the alcohol, represents the close relationship that the next generation will have with alcohol before they find themselves as part of the bunch of balloons.
A true masterpiece in my opinion! LOL
