Well that sums it all up right there. Great links-videos.
Now just substitute every corp. brand name on Ebay’s 10 double sided pages of hundreds of company names and there you have it.
As Jay says, many do it, some get caught, some don’t.
But, I will personally say tissue not Kleenex.

05/24/2020 at 4:46 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 464: In the wake of the pandemic- Facebook Shops #77762Yes, SixBit uploads each of our listings into the Shopify store. SB coordinates and synchs Ebay, Etsy and Shopify all from the one central location.
We use SB to create just one listing with all the item specifics, description and handles the complete inventory of all items. Create the one listing and when ready to upload-list, there are 3 tabs titled Ebay, Etsy, Shopify. We list all of our items on all 3, so we click those 3 tabs and there they go. Boom, all 3 platforms are populated with the same item.
Now here is the great thing. SB has what they call “Allocation Plans”. So, when an item sells on any of the 3 platforms, SixBit automatically deletes the listing [sale] from the other two platforms.
SB also eliminates the creation of duplicates like Ryanne was talking about. SB controls your inventory and all the financials associated with all 3 platforms.
If you happen to have 3 identical items like 3 plates, you input 3 pcs. into the inventory tab, then input 3 items “available for Sale”. Then when 1 item is sold, SB will reduce the available number on the other 2 platforms down to 2. Then down to one if another one sells, then when the final one sells, the inventory is reduced to zero and all 3 platforms gets deleted.
BTW, WonderLister which we used for 3 years prior to switching to SixBit also handled auto synching with Shopify, but WL was having problems with its Etsy module. That is the reason, after 3 years we finally switched to SixBit.
Just FWI…we still have not gone live with our Shopify Store yet as far as taking actual Sales as of yet, because we have been making a fairly major shift from what we have been selling for many years. Due to Susan’s cancer I have had to redesign things so that I will be able to do all the stores with only myself and our now one helper.
But back to my point, it will be great if SixBit will now be able to handle the addition of Facebook Shops and Instagram, especially since it sounds like FB is going to forward Sales back to Shopify, the SixBit may be able to just stay as it is and it will see the Sale because it will be going through Shopify.
So still 3 tabs but covering 5 platforms.
I composed a message to SB Tech Support and have asked all of these questions plus more and will see what the team has to say about the FB announcement, did SixBit know ahead of time this was coming and if they had solutions on the drawing board for some time now and they are ready to have a go at it.
The team usually gets back to me within 24 hrs. give or take so will see.
especially interested if the SB inventory, photos, descriptions and item specifics will just export over to FB just like it does for Etsy.
We will see.

MDC Concepts, Inc.I just thought of something.
We use SixBit a third party app to do our listings. We create one listing in SB and it auto uploads and synchs with Ebay, Etsy and Shopify. I bet SB is also on top of how to have the Shopify module interface with FB Shops because FB Shops interfaces and synchs with Shopify. So we may be able to have SB take the whole Shopify store and do a mass inventory move over to FB which in turn will also place on Instgram. All of which will maybe use the Shopify gateway for purchases on those 3 platforms.
All just a guess but think I will contact SixBit Tues. and see what they have to say about all of this. It would be great to have all 5 platforms being controlled from one central hub within SixBit.

Thanks. Seems simple enough. Will have to read over everything more in depth tomorrow and see how far I get.
If they will run truly like a shop, wonder how we will be able to create “a catalog” they speak about. We have about 1,200 items in our Ebay store, so wonder what is going to be the rpocess of getting all of those over and into the FB Shop area. Even wonder if there is a limit to number of items, etc.
So more questions to dig into tomorrow.
Thanks agagin for the link.

Wonder how to go about interfacing an already existing FBBP [facebook bznz page]. Some while back I added a business page to my personal FB page. Never really used it. Only a few posts of an incorrectly sized MDC Galleries logo and that’s about it.
I wonder if we will be able to break that old FB bznz page away from our personal page and just open a regular FB Store page and break all ties with the personal page stuff.
Then if so, is the new FB Shop going to auto linked to the FaceBook Market Place and also linked back to a Shopify Store?
Just don’t know anything about this because never been a fan of FB and never really used it and only have 3 or 4 linked people. But guess times are a changing.

It is like Jay said.
The shortest we have had since Ebay started allowing this is a few 24 hour Offers. Guess when they come in at night the 24 hour period gives us most of the whole next day to reply. Other than that, most just let the 48 hr. “default” time frame stay.

MDCGFA in AtlMy wife susan used to work for Phizzer [??] Corp. who made Coty Cosmetics and she said there was another issue. That would be storage, product stability and after application skin reactions.
She said cosmetics need to be stored at room temp. or cooler. The emulsions, oils, and lanolins will separate with time and break down with age. Then a buyer gets a jar of something and there is a puddle of oil sitting on top. Then the buyer has to stir that oil back into the mix to thoroughly emulsify it.
She also said that some items will turn rancid in the jars. They have what could be called a shelf life. If we came across those types of cosmetics she wouldn’t want us to buy and sell it because of the liability. A buyer could react to the product after they put in on their skin or around there eyes or sensitive areas then here they come at you.
She said they would pull inventory when they did their annual counts and send back aged cosmetics that had not sold.
Sounds like she knows what she is talking about, so think you are better off.
Now as far as nail polish, proably last forever. Ask Ryanne, she has been selling some for a few years now. Wonder if she has opened a bottle and smelled, checked one out? Probably OK.
Susan even says that powered eye shadow and face powders, foundation items, moisturizers and lipsticks can have issues. Heat being the culprit of a lot of the damage.
Oh, well enough said.

A few weeks back we had a few posts going about Ebay’s VERO Program and the link to the list was posted.
Yes, Amway Corporation, USA is on the first page of that VERO list.
The topics we covered in those thread posts were: How active is Amway searching for their name and products being sold on e-commerce platforms, do they have a team of employees looking specifically for non-authorized sellers, Ebay doesn’t care they will just take your listings down at the request of the VERO registered company, do others sell the VERO company products [yes they do], are they supposed to be doing that [no really], does everyone get caught [no but it is still not Kosher, do some get caught [Yes], if caught will I get a VERO violation letter [most likely, and Ebay pulls your listings], if I get more than one VERO what happens “Only The Shadow Knows”.
Jays past comments have been many people speed a lot of times, but only a few get caught, but those do get a ticket and pay a fine.
You call.
Here’s a novel idea…. Call Avon directly and ask if you can sell their products on line if you got them at an auction or estate sale. Nothing like straight from the horses mouth.

Hey Jay: Does the “search” bar go all the way back to the old BLOG Days? You used to have two search bars, one for the Blog and One for the Forum. Now I only see one.

Here’s an idea for all of you that use peanuts. Why not form a buying collective. All of you guys go in together, have Ryanne buy a truck load and bring them into her warehouse and then split them up and you guys pay here to ship 7-10 CF bags to the rest of you on an as need basis or all at once.
That way all of you get the lowest price, free shiiping because you cause bought the largest quantitiy and then Ryane distributes everybody’s separate orders out to the other SL members who pre-paid and bought in. The other members just have to pay Ryane for the separate shipping.
You can maybe even pay her through the donations link or she sends you an invoice from PayPal.
I think a 7 – 10 CF bag will go through regular shipping. I get good prices of rolls of bubble wrap and those rolls come two rolls placed inside of a super large black contractor’s bag. [bigger than a 55 gallon drum size] and just taped off on the top and the label slapped on the side. So take the 7-10 CF regular clear bag, drop in another bag and ship out to everyone who wants to split.
All of this based on the fact that Ryanne has a place in her “Estate” to receive a truckload in for a short period until it gets dropped shipped out to the other members.
Just trying to think outside the box. BTW.. this technique could apply to other products also.
In our case we have a Fed EIN Number since we are a corporation which allows us to buy wholesale in many cases.
Something to ponder …

Welcome Robb. Good luck.
And FYI all of the Forum comments and replies are searchable if a certain topic comes to mind. There is a ton of good advice and various opinions that can be found doing searches.
The old blog used to be searchable but unsure if it is now. Jay can tell you that. Tons of information on a whole lot of topics have been captured and searchable.
Again.. Welcome.

Uline has the starch ones which I think are the ones that dissolve.
https://www.uline.com/BL_2004/Uline-UPSable-Peanuts 7 CF at $21
Staples but they about double the cost 7 CF at $40https://www.uline.com/BL_2001/Biodegradable-Peanuts This is the link to the Biodegrable, best pricing and offering large quantities.
These Uline ones have a separate for the biodegradeable ones that melt in water at the largest CF volume for the lowest price.
* 20 CF bags for $27 ea. But they also have volume discount breaks going up to 20 bags as low as $17 ea or $340.
* And as a bonus since you guys have the warehouse, you can call them for special pricing on 40+ bags. But as always with Uline that does not include freight. But since these are large bags but light in weight they will go by freight-truck and 40 bags won’t be much more than 20 bags hopefully since with trucks just like DIM weights you are buying the space on the truck not paying much for the weight.
Since Uline stopped offering local pick-up several years ago, I have not bought anything from them. I used to buy bubble wrap and the shipping was $30 for a $27 roll of BW. AND GUESS WHAT!!! They are only 5 miles up the road from me. So I dumped them as a supplier. I call once a year but nope, no local pick-up.
The reason was that locals coming into the loading dock area posed a safety hazard to the truckers.Hopes this helps you out some what. Maybe they are still too high for you. We don’t use peanuts. Every customer we had in the printing business [10 million dollar company] all told us no peanuts. Even non-static ones. They all wanted “dunnage” 50 lb. weight brown kraft paper and that is what we also now use in our small online businesses.
Take Care …

Yep.. that is the way it works.
When the check boom-a-rangs 10 or more weeks later on you, the bank will grab those funds out of your account to reimburse themselves.
I wonder why anybody would take a check of any type from someone on Craigslist, especially if they are out of town.
We stopped taking checks of any kind, any time, any where.
OK.. Worthpoint has thousands of GD posters that have sold. that goes back as far as 2013 and a few have sold in the thousand dollar range but those has great back stories with signatures and paperwork to substantiate them.
This after filtering by price, particular poster first showed up as a sold in 2013 for $40. The next instance that showed up was 2016 again sold for $40.
Here is the link: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vtg-grateful-dead-jerry-garcia-poster-1811191131
I am with Jay… Ask higher and take offers and let the market dictate the price. You can decline any lowballers as you choose.
