I am at 535 items in my store. I try not to set listing number goals because I feel like I am competing against myself when I get a lot of good sales. I just try to get everything listed that I bought over the weekend. Wow! 2000 items that is awesome!
Sorry, didn’t answer one of your questions. I will be growing most of the typical foodstuffs that you think when somebody grows a backyard garden. There will also be some things that are not common in backyard gardens like wheat, oats, quinoa, chia. Many types of beans like pinto, black and soybeans. I am experimenting with more tropical types like avocado and coffee also. Another area to explore is fiber crops like flax, hemp, nettles and cotton.
I agree it isn’t as easy as it sounds. My plan in a nutshell is to grow large quantities of the same or similar foods and then preserve them until my stock is built up. To preserve the food, I have a freeze dryer. After the food is freeze dried it can last up to 25 years. I have a small greenhouse that I will be working on maintaining through sustainable and renewable means. Currently nut and fruit ( almond and hazelnuts, figs and apple) trees are being grown in large containers. I may never get to 100% but I think with the right coordination and application of technology (old and new) that it can be done. I have always been fascinated by self sufficiency and believe that is what attracted me to Ebay in the first place. Also why I like when you guys talk about other aspects and philosophies of your lifestyle. I could go on and on. Anyway, glad to be apart of this and wish success to us all.
