Christine, have you posted a link to your painting before? I’d love to see it!
BigSally! I was just wondering about you. This is such exciting news. What a find! Keep us updated!
Those sculptures are all magnificent.
I think you’re right on with the pricing, though it never hurts to aim higher!Nobody can know everything. One of our local thrifts routinely marks up Gap, Chico’s, and Talbot’s items but misses more obscure high-end designers. Another one puts high prices on former collectibles like Haeger vases, common Nippon items, and carnival glass, but has missed some fantastic studio art pottery. And who knows what I’ve left behind because I was too ignorant to buy it. Keep looking, keep learning. Don’t let the $3 flip flops get you down.
The ingredient list for these pills looks pretty innocent — but it’s always worth checking to make sure we’re not selling old cough syrup or pills with opium, cocaine, laudanum, or anything else that would be a way bigger deal than an INAD! XD
I’m sure it’s worth something; a lamp restorer might have some age-appropriate glass from another piece they could cut to fit.
It’s an art deco table lamp and originally had some kind of stained glass/slag glass in the circle.
I didn’t find yours in a quick search, but here are some similar pieces:

I think I’d just call it “mod.”
So, this looks like something that might have been made in a paint-your-own ceramics studio or maybe made at someone’s home craft ceramics business. I think it’s probably a razor holder.

I haven’t posted my numbers in a long time, but here’s Feb 10 to 16, 2019.
Total Items In Store: +/- 90
Items Sold: 6
Cost of Items Sold: $47
Total Sales: $334
Highest Price Sold: $150 (set of antique plates; paid $10)
Average Price Sold: $55
# Items Listed: about 10Things at work have settled down a bit, and I’ve been digging into the death piles to find unlisted items (or things that expired months ago and are too old to re-list) and get them up and listed. (That’s been working out well; this week, I sold some mugs within 24 hours for $90; they’ve been sitting on a shelf for at least a year.) I’m also trying to get out and thrift a little more than I’ve been able to over the last several months. I’ve found a few decent items, and sales have picked up. (I had kind of a high COGS this week, because I sold a few things for cheap that I shouldn’t have bought in the first place.) I still don’t have the time I used to have (I’ve added a grad school class on top of work, eBay, and parenting!) but I’ve been doing okay, and sales really haven’t been bad, considering my tiny inventory and long handling time (5 business days is my standard, just because I need that wiggle room. I almost always ship within 24 hours, but I need that flexibility in the event of sick kids or long days at work.)

It’s especially difficult to gauge the truth of buyer feedback. If I’ve had a truly difficult experience, I might leave feedback that sounds positive but has a few breadcrumbs for the observant/attuned audience. I might use words/phrases like “passionate” or “tons of communication.” I might say that this is an ‘enthusiastic’ buyer who ‘knows what they want.’ Things that are true, and are not objectively negatives, but which might be a dog whistle for other sellers. I don’t know if anyone else does this, though.
So, I’m not totally sure what you’ve got here, but I *think* it might be related to, or a knock-off of, the Hermes “Le Potager Extraordinaire” scarf from like 2014 or 2015. The original scarf is silk, and yours is clearly marked polyester, and I couldn’t find an original in this particular color scheme, but the influence can’t be denied. The original was designed by this artist: http://pierremarie.fr/biography.html.
I wear big scarves like this to work all the time — usually made of super fine wool; you can fold them different ways or wear them as a sort of shawl for an extra layer of warmth against a chilly classroom.

I doubt you’ll need a photo when you have the card on the back of the painting and then the title listed in the brochure. The connection seems clear. My fingers and toes are crossed that Christies comes back with good news for you!
