Sold the clock and already miss it!
I’m pretty sure those are paint-by-number paintings, which I believe are usually acrylic. Definitely not watercolor.
Here’s an existing listing for the pair:

Retro, we have a similar plan to yours, through Obamacare. It’s vastly cheaper per month than it was pre-ACA, but we still really, really, REALLY weigh the merits of each trip to the doctor, and more often than not end up staying home. I suppose some would argue that’s the superior outcome.
I’m glad, though, that we decided to pay up when my husband’s doctor (during one of those apparently unnecessary routine physicals) found a mole he didn’t like, which turned out (upon inspection/biopsy at a specialist) to be a melanoma. No amount of cold water baths, smug self-sufficiency, diligent self-care, or healthy living would have allowed us to to prevent or detect that cancer on our own, and if we’d waited until he was actually SICK, he’d be dead.
Instead, he’s merely uninsurable (once we throw off the chains of government oppression by repealing ACA, that is.)
But that’s okay, if the cancer returns, I can scrape it off with an exacto knife and wipe his skin down with a cold compress, I guess. At least we’ll have our dignity.
Thanks so much, everyone!
Instagram is really fun so far; I’ve had a few inquiries about items but nothing that’s translated into a sale, or even increased views, as far as I can tell. That said, I’m following over 6,000 people and am basically constantly awash in cool images and information about art, design, decor, and more. Learning a ton, about both content (art, design, decoration) and form (what makes a good photograph, etc.) basically effortlessly. Recommended with reservations. 🙂
Thanks so much for the photos; I can really see the difference now.
Art pottery is in demand, in my experience. I’d definitely check The Marks Project. Here are a few articles and reference sites that might help:

http://themarksproject.org/I can’t see/read the signature on the piece with the blue leaves; can you get a better photo?

Yesterday I found a 1950’s vintage light-up Coca-Cola clock for $30. I priced it super-high and it’s hanging in my kitchen until it sells; I’m super-psyched about it.
Jay, a million years ago I interviewed a woman who made high-end stuffed bears out of antique mohair coats. Once you confirm it’s wool/mohair, I’d look at the eyes (are they glass or plastic? Are they shoe-button type eyes or more realistic “eye” eyes?), the paw pads (what is the black material? Leather, felt, vinyl?) and I’d also look to see if you can get a sense of what the moveable parts are made out of. Plastic/metal?
I really don’t know anything about bears myself, but those might give you further insight into age/quality/origin.
Check out rubbings of a scene from the Ramayana. I think that’s your source.
Here’s a reproduction:

Oh, I like that idea. Sorry not to be more helpful!
I almost feel like it’s a part of something meant to be outside, like a gravestone decoration/flagholder or some sort of architectural element, but I can’t tell.
Feeling a little better today, thanks!
I found this one, signed “H,” and attributed to Hippolyte Fauvel.
http://www.prices4antiques.com/Fauvel-Hippolyte-Oil-on-Canvas-Painting-signed-Beach-Scene-with-Wagon-Figures-C227921.htmlI feel okay about the attribution, but not 100%. 🙂
Yes, because I am down for the count at the moment I didn’t cross-check all of the signatures…
but certainly more than one signed with just an H has been attributed to him. Of course, the art world and the internet are both rife with bad attributions. As I come back to life over the course of the day I’ll look into it some more. 🙂 -
