05/04/2020 at 3:48 pm in reply to: How is USPS copping during the Pandemic? Just wondering….. #77021Hi everyone. I was using Priority Mail for the pottery, glass, and hat. First class for the NY package. This seems to be a sign of the times. People have been pretty mellow and bored, so we have kind of been wondering where their packages will go next.
Seriously, I do find that entering my email and asking for a complete tracking history and update tends to move things along. This is probably a happy coincidence though.
I am hoping this too shall pass. The USPS is awesome. I would cry if I had to rely on another service.

(last two/three weeks)
My Stetson hat has been ambling thru the countryside of Ohio for three days. The buyer lives in Indiana. He is a new buyer and is rattled. My 1835 pottery took the scenic route in PA before showing up at the buyer’s place. My buyer and I were kind of laughing because the USPS tracking had originally said we had either the wrong address or the label was not readable, but we use stamps.com. Finally it made a loop and got redirected. Where are you gooiiinnngg? This should have taken 1 or 2 days due to location.

PHILADELPHIA PA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTEROh and my 1930s glass fridge box and lid set? Fuhgeddaboudit, The USPS must have put a 500 lb object on it. It was shards of glass on delivery and the double boxes I used looked like a crushed accordion. The buyer and I both wept. š

PSS There are some good deals on Teslas out there. They are blazing fast off the line, like a rollercoaster. Not sure how practical they are for rural life, but Just sayin.

If you want out of the new experience, call in, but have the FAQ which is located on the Manage Store/edit store page open. They will tell you there is no way to opt out and get back to the old store and they will triple Pinky swear. Keep pressing and tell them they are wrong and use the FAQ where it says that people can revert back to their old store. They will then check and at some point be told that they are incorrect. Then they will fish out a mythical revert Store linkā that they can see, and restore the old store. So fingers crossed.
Alright, so IMO, my sales dropped significantly when my store was moved to the āNew Store Experienceā. I have been selling for more years than I care to admit and by the 26th, I was pretty aggravated. So my pet theory and actually itās a reasonable one based on past years of sales this time of year, the attempts to apply their new SEO and features while also keeping many sellers in the old experience, screwed up the works.
Soooo after much I successfully got reverted back out of that and back to my āOld eBay Experienceā.
So if sales go back to āJune normalā, maybe this theory has legs.
I will report back.
Yes, there are potential disadvantages to reverting back, and also, they are going to keep moving folks to the New Store experience. Iām hoping by then, if Iām correct, the bugs will be fixed.
Ok. I kinda enjoyed watching and hearing the adventure unfold. I have always been a fan of Grand Designs, so your podcast was a logical extension for me, in a sense. Presumably the Airbnb environment has gotten more competitive. I just wondered how you two have evolved that business over time.
Thanks.05/07/2018 at 6:06 pm in reply to: Auctions vs. Fixed: Yes Virginia, you can 100% Blow Yourself Up with Auctions. #39324I know, right? Had I only checked I would have been super thrilled. One of the other benefits of Fixed Price listings is that one is kind of inoculated against the low auction prices, as long as one is willing to wait.
I use Worthpoint and Liveauctioneers which has a sold lookup. Itās a nice secondary source.
Oops, maybe they meant free trial.

Free? Terapeak free? I will look into this. Hope springs eternal.
I have Worthpoint, but you all can also sign up free for Liveauctioneers and find a lot of good info too. It depends on what your item is, whether Worthpoint is worth it.
I have subscribed and am satisfied with it, but it does lack a lot of features.
Hello, I hope everybody has been finding great stuff. My life is in a bit of flux: Iām renovating an abandoned house that I bought, teaching overseas online (more on that when the house dust settles), and doing a lot of traveling. Anyway, here is what I have been up to. Good hunting everyone.

I love Hawaii and those are great sales! Sometimes I crash and burn when I sell Hawaiian clothing.
08/22/2017 at 10:25 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Breg Polar Care, Post WW I German money, Bike trainer, Pendleton board shirt, Bullworker, Seatbelt purse, Blow mold Santa #22077Ok so as usual I am late to the fun. I’m in the middle of buying a not quite “tiny house”. Closing is next week. It comes in at 508 square feet. That’s a major shift for me. It does have this rather strange almost basement, but it’s about 5 foot 5 inches high.
In the meantime, my second annual Christmas in July What Sold (yes so late in fact it’s almost September šš¤·š»āāļø)
