Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement and tips! Lost about 40 items all told. I don’t think I’ll be listing much anymore. I’m getting rid of a bunch of stuff this week. It has been too much work to keep up with, along with everything else going on.
This was probably one of my favorite podcasts! All the laughing and fun you two had. Always cracks me up. Nice to know you two can live together, work together, vacation together, and still have a good laugh. Always a good time on the podcast. Thanks Jay and Ryanne!
Never, have I ever, seen a fork as such. Interesting.
Thanks for the tips, Jay and Amatino. I have gone through most of the items. Only about 20 were lost, but only because I grabbed a wet cardboard box, and the bottom fell out. The ceramic items in it fell out and most of them broke. I’ve gone ahead and removed the damaged items. It did go pretty fast, thing is I’m getting soaked from the water coming in and it’s cold, so I am only doing about 2 hours of clean up a day. This really makes me not want to sell on ebay anymore. I LOVE selling on ebay, but along with all else I have going on, I just cannot afford the time it’s taking me to clean up the mess.
Now, I have to go through every item in my store and change the “location”, since I just stuck the items in dry boxes to keep things moving along. Oh the joy!
Thanks for the tip, @Amatino. I never thought of doing that! I have 4 “Respond to Offer”s and yes, it IS most annoying. Good to know that I can get rid of them by resisting!
Vintage Treasures, tell me about it! ha! This winter was not bad, but boy that last snowfall hit us hard!
Hi Lauren, I am not aware of any Goodwill bins, but there is a Salvation Army bin. I’ve only been there one time, but I’m not one to “dig” through stuff. I like taking the low fruit, so I have never returned. I did get a few things for about $1. the time I went and sold them for about $10-$20, so all was not lost, but it took some time to sell.
Being in Chicago, I prefer not to venture out to the ‘burbs, but Vernon Hills is not too far away. I’ve never been there, that I can remember.
There is a lot of thrift stores in Chicago though. I have found some gems. I did go to a Goodwill yesterday, found a lot of goodies I passed up, but I passed them up only because I was really not feeling like thrifting and just stopped by because I was in the neighborhood.
I’m trying to remain level headed about this. It’s just “stuff”, but I will say, it is difficult to. @Jay, I have 792 items.
@Lauren, I’m in Illinois, and I gotta say, you scared me! I’m like wait-did I miss something? Glad it worked out too.
Sonia, thanks so much! Did not know that.
Thank you so much, MyCottage!
Ha! I’m with Jay, “Looks delicious!” (I can hear Jay’s laughter)
After seeing the prices those tureens go for, I’d definitely categorize it as a “tureen”. Also, if you are wrong, (doubt it) someone “will” let you know. Good luck!
Thanks everyone! I did try Etsy, and had not come across that listing. Hmm…I like the “air plant” descriptor. To answer your question, AntiqueFrog, yes, folks over there do get psychotic with feedback. And on that note, this week I had someone on ebay “ask” if they could leave me positive feedback. They also said they would reciprocate if I left them good feedback. Really? I guess they just don’t know how feedback works on ebay. They actually contacted me 3x stating “you did not answer the question…” So, yea, there’s that. On my way to find out what Worthpoint folks can tell me. Again, thanks everyone!
I accidentally left it at the post office. They know me, so they held it til the next day, but I did not go in until 2 days after leaving the package. Now, the package is in a black hole. I have refunded the buyer, but now, how do I get my payment to FedEx back for the shipping, since it never scanned?
