Cool that sounds good, I’ll be there. That’s a good area for sourcing too. If we all just wrap ourselves in eBay tape we’ll know who to look for haha. Heads up, I went to the St Vincent de Paul store a week ago and it was closed for renovation, maybe it’s open again? They have great prices.
Haha yeah the tape needs to be toned down for real. I dig the free 12 pack every quarter but the circus clown thing comes to mind as well when the taped up masterpiece is finished. Ends up looking like a terrible 90s website with vomit rainbow gradients, spinning animated goofy graphics and floating balloons as your mouse cursor. The only thing missing from the tape design is random barcodes and addresses, that would be a nice vintage touch. Just having a good laugh, all and all that’s what keeps eBay weird and awesome!
Whatsup guys! This is Grant, Indy here as well, I’d be up for meeting as well Feb. 16th. Looks like we’ve got a lot of us popping up here. Just went full-time on eBay after building up for a year and of course taking huge inspiration from the Scavenger Life podcasts. I’m a solo mission seller so it’d be interesting to hear other’s approaches to this as I don’t know anyone who does what I do. North side is good. Good luck out there everyone. Half off tomorrow!
I recently found a seller copying and pasting word for word my own researched and written description. I’m a believer in well researched keywords and inserting them throughout the listing description, so I spend sometimes 10 minutes researching/writing them (with visible results for traffic and sales). Being a bit of a justice warrior, I messaged the seller with a link to my listing and called them out for ripping my own words and template straight up. Their response was about the same, denying it and telling me to mind my business, haha…I was minding my business. It is in eBay policies that stealing other seller’s photos or words is not allowed, I was not able to get them to honor that but they referred me to sign up and fill out a VERO form, the dreaded word itself made me forget the whole thing ever happened, but that’s a solution if you guys ever get tired of this issue. The less Amazonian eBay becomes the better, keeps originality and creativity at the core of why it’s a great platform. It’s good to stand up for that.
