My premium subscription renewed in March. I just chatted with eBay to see if I’d be charged the early term fee for downgrading to basic. She said that I “shouldn’t” be charged, and stayed on the chat while I downgraded to see if I’d be charged (which she said she would request to be waived if so).

I downgraded and there was no early term fee. The invoice said my new subscription would start May 1, and the rep confirmed all. She did ask how I heard about this promotion, I just told her I read it on some forum. Not sure why the fee wasn’t charged, maybe since I just renewed? Either way, happy to save approx $40+/month! Thanks for the intel!

I use an iPhone 6 in the same way that Jay describes – just for pictures and eBay, connected to wifi only, no cell service. I don’t think the 6 is supported any longer by Apple, but the 6S and newer will still update.
