You can also use this site http://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking with the esus tracking #s. I had the same issue with DHL not showing correct tracking, I haven’t with this site. And I just wanted to say, be careful with Paypal working capital payment delays. Although they will delay the % deducted from sales, they still require the 90 day payment requirement to be met. So in a way, it’s similar to the issues you guys had with Ebay delaying account fees, both options are really just kicking the ball down the road a bit. Sorry to keep posting new replies, editing my post has caused issues in the past. Anyways, thanks again.
Also, I live in a pretty small town, we have 7 confirmed cases. My buddies step mom went in Tuesday with symptoms, she was put on a ventilator and was moved to dialysis yesterday because her kidneys were failing. Today she passed away. This thing hits quick and isn’t a joke. I hope everyone stays safe, follows commons sense, and doesn’t underestimate the gravity of the situation.

Highest sold – Mecca 70s set – $100Good week but seems to have slowed since this past Saturday, so we’re just getting ready for this pandemic to finally start impacting our sales. I have a few repeat buyers that I haven’t heard from at all this month, I’m not sure if it’s due to them cutting back on spending or if it’s because they’re sick. One of me and my wife’s favorite customers is an older lady and she’s one of the ones I haven’t heard from, so I hope she’s doing well.
The meccano was my highest cog item, at $10. It’s been up on my shelf for about 2 years now and I ended up taking a third of what I was asking for it, just to get it out the door. They’re also conveniently the only customer who hasn’t paid yet, so there’s that lol. The rest of the sales were the free magazines and small pins, vacuum tubes, records, and old toy accessories that I usually a few cents for a piece.
I would like Ebay to help out smaller sellers more, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I was super grateful for the 50,000 free listings. Just the savings on the listings over my first 10,000 will save me around $250 a month.

# of current listings – 14,844Been super busy these past few weeks, haven’t had a chance to comment in the threads. Beginning of last week was super slow, I thought it would be the first time in ~6 months where I finally went under 2k gross for the week, but I had a few of my repeat buyers save my ass with a some larger combined sales.
This current week has felt back to normal, around $2,500 so far for this week and still have the rest of the day to make some sales.
I’m super glad that I have a huge back log of items to list, all thrift stores and local auctions around me have been postponed. All the online auctions I usually source from has now been stormed by flippers with no inventory or place to source, causing the bids to increase way past my normal price range.
So for the foreseeable future, I will be doing no sourcing at all and will just tackling my huge backlog of items. I should have enough back stock to last my the better part of a year, so I’m just hoping that everything will be back to normal by then.

Hello all, it’s been a busy week, listened to the Podcast on Sunday but am just now getting a chance to reply. Great job on that shirt, I actually saw you guy sold that the day or so before the podcast dropped and was blown away by the price, very cool. I found the idea to buy poshmark interesting, but not something that I would want Ebay to buy right now. It’s funny, I think we all look at the future of Ebay with a bit of bias whenever things feel slow. You guys want them to buy poshmark and push vintage/used clothes, a youtuber I watch who has over 20,000 listings thinks the solution is to remove all listing fees(of course saving him a bunch of money in doing so), and I personally think they should focus on the collectors market. It’s kinda like whatever our personal niche or business model is, we think that the key to the future of Ebay is focusing on that specific market. Like anything in life, the answer is most likely a mix of all these things. Good job on sales this past week, I know you guys have been listing a lot recently so it’s nice seeing the reward for the hard work.

Inventory Bought – $103Sales last week were good. Not really a lot to speak of, most of the orders were magazines again. I sold a few other things I got from that estate as well. Along with the magazines there were a few bins that had empty/flat cereal boxes in them. We’ve had some good sales with them so far, but this one was torn it ended up going pretty cheap. We also sold a few 64oz Thermos from the estate. I paid for these at the estate’s auction. I paid $2.5 per bin of thermos, each one had 10-12 mugs in them, so I’m estimating $0.20-$0.25 a piece for COGS. I sold some vacuum tubes/pins/patches/records, same stuff I feel like I talk about each week here lol. COG for these items run less than a dime or so piece.
Highest COG item sold this week as a Sony Time Lapse VCR that I bought years ago, I *think* I paid $7.5-$10 for this item, but it’s been so long, I can’t be 100% sure without looking through receipts. The typewriter that I sold a few weeks ago was returned yesterday. For the first time in my Ebay career, I had a return that was very visibly a different item than was sold. The one I sent was used, clean, and fully functional. The one returned was rusted and all the keys were locked. I have free returns so I just reported the buyer, provided a 50% refund, didn’t refund original shipping, and moved on. I paid a few bucks for it, so the transaction was still profitable. I just tossed the machine, I’m trying to get rid of big junk like that anyways. I sold a mug that I’ve had up for years as well. Anyone remember the ‘mug life!’ craze that was all over youtube 4 or 5 years ago? I’m pretty sure I still have mugs listed from that period in my store lol. I sold a Marx Jane West lot, which is just about the last of a big lot that I paid $40 for last summer. I sold a Geronimo Indian for $45 a few days after that purchase, so all the sales from that lot since has just been pure profit.
My comment about my numbers last week was deleted due to an editing glitch I wasn’t aware of, but I had made a comment about some stuff I bought last week. Included in that was a box lot of antique books that I paid $2.50 for. I just got around to researching and picturing those items this past week and will be listing them soon. One of the books in the lot is a first edition of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Vegetable’. I should be able to get $200-250 for it, maybe more.
I’ll be heading out tomorrow to pick up items I bought from an online local auction. I spent $103 total, including taxes and the 15% buyers premium. I shouldn’t be buying really, but I’m getting a bit sick of looking at magazines everyday. Plus, I can’t ever escape this nagging feeling that one day I’ll run out of stuff to list, even though I know that’s completely irrational.
Anyways, that was my week on Ebay. We also completely reorganized our storage unit, which I’ll probably upload pictures of later. I also did some nerd shit this past weekend, which is why I’m so late to the boards. I got one of those ‘Street Fighter 1up arcade machines a few years ago and it’s just been sitting around unplayed, so I decided to do something with it. Me and my son stripped the machine, pulled all the arcade buttons and installed an entirely new system. We threw a 256gb retro game image into a Raspberry Pi 3b+, installed new LED light up buttons, drilled new holes into the board to install additional buttons, converted the VGA output to HDMI, and installed a new audio amp into the cabinet. Our new arcade holds over 22,000 games now, ranging from Atari 2600 all the way up to N64. So now I just have to find a way not to play the darn thing nonstop now and get back to listing.

So I just noticed my numbers post for this week is gone from this thread and there was a long reply I made to MDC Galleries last week that disappeared as well. Very odd. I’m still new to this board, is there some sort of glitch or issue on the backend of things that would cause my posts to disappear?
The person who bought the house gave them to me. They were going to throw everything away, I offered to clean out the house in exchange for keeping what I wanted. They agreed. They thought everything was trash.
Oh, I forgot I had some pics to share. Here are some photos from the hoarders house I got the magazines from. These are from when I first walked into the house, I wasn’t able to get to many of the rooms until I cleared a way, so I didn’t get pics of every room. Towards the end of the pics are when I had most of the stuff in the storage unit I bought. The last two pics are how we store them in the banker boxes and sleeves. Also, sorry about the images being sideways. Imgur is just not being cooperative right now.
Do you have business shipping policies set up? I was just able to add Ebay Standard International as an additional option in those policies and it applied to all items with that particular policy.
We bag/board the magazines, with a magazine on each side. Then we have these large banker boxes we put them in, each box has a sku #. Records are all stored sitting up in crates, expect for the 78s we still need to process, those are still in tubs. We expect some broken ones in there, since they’re shellacs. Postcards and small paper ephemera are in sleeves and standing up in clear bins. Pins are stored in small bins. The big stuff is just on shelves, taking up way too much room. We have a 2 car garage and a small garage that is full of inventory and we had to get a 10×30 unit to hold the magazines.
I would figure it would be a replacement to get ready for a mass movement to the managed payments system, but there’s nothing official from Ebay yet.
So I didn’t watch the whole thing due to length, but I did skip around and saw a good portion of what’s she’s saying. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like she’s talking about a personal experience, rather than a policy. She doesn’t show anything in the fine print about a 6-8 week delivery time, but is talking about one specific package that took a while to get delivered.
Just as a counter anecdotal experience, I checked a magazine I shipped out Jan 31st using standard international delivery and it arrived to the customer in the UK today. Like I said, maybe I missed it, but I would like to see an actual statement on the fine print/policy about it, not a personal complaint over a single item.
