Hello everyone,
Finally coming back up for air after Brookhaven and all the other things going on. I am finding it difficult to get back into listing mode because I see all the other things I should be doing also. I just need to buckle down and devote two hours a day to listing to get back in the swing of things.
Brookhaven was a great show, although tear down was a bear….two of my five workers called in sick that day so we were extremely short handed and it made it much more difficult. My average sale for the show was the highest it’s ever been in 28 years…so it shows people are spending money!
My ebay sales are sluggish and I know it’s because I haven’t been listing. If I can get on the ball this week and next it should help a lot.
Kudos to all you happy listers…..you are an inspiration and I hope to put up a decent number next week, or at least the week after. But for now, put me down for zeroes for all the weeks I haven’t posted. I also will work on my DP, promise!
Charlie had a health issue last week and spent several days in the hospital. He’s home now and recovering well, but it was scary. Needless to say no listings for the week. However, I still had found some time to sort through the DP and did donate five large boxes of items, including a whole box of china teacups I had planned to put candles in, long ago. Out they go!
Here’s hoping for a much less eventful rest of the year for all of us!
Oh my gosh. Everyone is going through things this year. Here’s hoping things start going better for all of us! Amatino what a lovely quilt show. So many wonderful creations!
I managed two listings last week, but more importantly I purged a whole bunch of DP items, including over 30 men’s ties I had planned to list on Ebay years ago. I have no interest in them now, so out they go. I also got a bunch of DP items ready for the show next week. Y’all are very inspiring!
Onwards and upwards, ladies!
Christine…gosh I am so sorry. Sending healing thoughts your way.
You are right…having an event does put everything in perspective. When I went through my thing in the summer, I kept thinking about Charlie having to deal with all my stuff if I was gone. It’s a sobering thought, among many other thoughts.
I hope that your recovery goes well.
Sharyn…I’m in! I’m just approaching it from a different direction. We emptied my DP storage unit into the carport late June, thinking we’d get through processing it in July. Then, I was very sick for six weeks…pretty much the whole summer. I have this semi-full carport staring at me every day. My show starts set up in two weeks, so I have to focus on going through the carport and pulling everything I can for the show and getting it priced and ready. I have shelving that I am putting DP t0-be-listed boxes on, and keeping it organized. The pile of boxes is going down every day. Just not being listed. Some of it is being donated. As long as it goes away, one way or another, it counts, right?
Zero listings, but actually a pretty productive week.
Julie….here’s hoping you have a wonderful rest of 2024. You will be missed!
As for me, I have to admit that I’ve been in the glumps, which makes it even harder to list. Feeling swamped and so behind and Brookhaven only a few weeks away. Hoping to get my mojo back this week. Fingers crossed.
Zero listings last week. I did get some DP items priced for Brookhaven.
I did pick up some fabulous vintage fabric…two big boxes of it….for two bucks at a yard sale last weekend. If anythings going to inspire me to list..that’ll be it!
Amatino that quilt is amazing! Lovely work and so charming.
Zero listings for me last week. Moving my dad took SO much time. I was able to do some sorting with my brother however, and donated at least 15 DP items. Not looking better for listing this week either. Just really slammed with things.
37 listings, all new items. None were death pile. However, went through several boxes and at least 20 DP items are off to be donated. Mostly books that have too little value to deal with.
My brother is coming for a visit this week from Colorado. We have to move my dad into Memory Care Saturday and it’s going to be a big job. I do have at least a day and a half with him helping me with DP items and it’s going to be awesome. We’ll make a big dent. He’s also an Ebayer Scavenger, so he knows the ropes! He and his wife just bought an antique mall in Florence Colorado, so I can’t wait to hear about that. We have scavenging in our veins!
18 items for last week, none were DP.
Had a great show in Oregon City and took more than 20 items from my DP to the show.
Eleven listings for me this week. Had a vicious cold on top of everything else so just had to muddle through. This weekend is our BIG summer show in Oregon City so this week will be mostly about prepping for that, although I hope to get some listing done as well.
15 listings for me last week. It feels great to finally post a number! And all DP items too.
I’m feeling much better but it will be some time before my energy fully comes back and I’m a little impatient at times but it’s all good. We have our BIG end of summer show coming up in a week and a half and I’m trying to get ready for that. A friend has offered to help us with it, which is great since it’s a high energy show.
I’m really really behind on things….just trying to take it one day at a time and be grateful that I am healing.
VT…I am so SORRY that you caught covid and just as sorry that you had to cancel your trip. That’s just awful. I hope that you recover quickly and maybe get a chance to reschedule?
It seems like several of us are having health issues this Summer. I have some of my own, which made for a rough July and start of August. Including two trips to the ER, two surgeries (so far) and four days in the hospital. I am hopeful that I am finally on the mend, but time will tell and I have a couple more weeks of recoup time.
Listings are zero until further notice…but very motivated to get on track once my energy returns.
Zero listings. Too much else going on.
Love the DP challenge and will certainly participate.
Zero listings for me but for a good reason this time. Took a road trip down to California to visit with a dear friend and go to the Sacramento Antique Faire. Found some great items, including an antique black bassinet that will be a fantastic Halloween display (especially filled with creepy old dolls!) and a very very old black typewriter that will also be part of our Halloween vignette.
Time to get back to listing…hope everyone has a great week!
10 listings for me last week. My focus was more on organizing and processing DP boxes. Was able to go through about 2 dozen boxes, and most of it was dealt with by either pricing for shows or donating.
