Sold a lot of small dollar sports cards this week. That coupled with no larger consignment sales made for a low dollar week. The sell through rate is nice, but that included a number of $2-$5 sales. I hit one auction this week and was marginally successful buying merchandise there, but many weeks I’m able to spend closer to $300 on merchandise so this week was pretty low quality items. As the podcast discussed, I am working on taxes this week and interested to see where I landed last year. I’m hoping doing these numbers beginning in 2019 will help be keep organized much better moving forward as tax time is too much of a mess currently.Other:
I have started my training to attempt to set the fastest known time on North Carolina’s Mountains-to-Sea Trail in May. It is a 1200-mile trail that spans the entire length of the state east-west. My hope is to complete the run in 24 days and use the experience to launch a public speaking side hustle and potentially write a book. I am officially announcing my attempt tomorrow so I guess I have to follow through now… Exciting, but quite a bit scary.Week of 2/10-2/16

This was a pretty good week for me. I left Friday for a conference in Boston and have continued selling a good number of items through the last few days despite a longer handling time. Sold a few high dollar consignment items that helped the overall numbers. Get home late tonight and have 25 items to ship by tomorrow…good, but tiring problem to have.Treasure Hunt Business:
We had a one-off request to run a Valentine’s Day treasure hunt and did so last week. Also have set up a meeting with our local visitor’s bureau and are excited to discuss opportunities to get our treasure hunt into the agendas for visiting conventions. This would be a great way to generate business without having to commit marketing dollars.02/12/2019 at 11:28 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 398: How To Buy or Not To Buy on eBay #56907Sharyn – The web site for our treasure hunts is triangletreasurehunt.com
I hope that’s ok to post here since it was requested, but I can remove this post if needed.

Did not hit any auctions this week and focused on catching up with some listings. I have had a friend with a load of sports collectibles consign his stuff to me over the last few months. The coin was a consignment item which is wonderful to sell…but also a little disappointing when the consignment check goes out. The cash flow number is one I am looking forward to tracking over time. As much as I love going to auctions and buying items for resale, I need to actually sell the item before I make any money.Other:
We have announced our spring treasure hunt schedule for March-May and listed dates on Airbnb for our experience. Now we are working on ways to promote the events. This has been our biggest challenge thus far without a marketing budget. We are relying on social media as our biggest tool, but are looking for other ways to get the word out in our local area.First post here! Been feeling on eBay since 2001…my first job as a 16 year old was actually working at an ISoldIt on eBay store. I’ll write up a better introduction post at some point. Here is my week. I am excited to work on my current Ebay business plan…doing actual numbers is a step in the right direction.
