Thanks Temudgin, good idea yeah that’s the gist of what I got from the UPS site linked above. I’ll probably end up going that route, want to make a decision so I can prep the item and change my CL ad, probably add a photo of it ready to go. In the end I just want to have the “in the raw” option in my bag of tricks!
heh, now that you mention it, that spare tire sure didn’t have any protrusions or edges 🙂 Just had a few adjustments in my head regarding my wrench… Then again, remembering the bomb proof nature of the label on the tire I’m imagining one of those zip tied to the center where the wrench bars cross.
I wondered about USPS as well, maybe I could take multiple option mock ups on it up to the window and see what they say.
Thanks Steven S, yeah one thing I remember about that tag was it sure wasn’t going anywhere! Really tough material and I had to cut the zip-tie off with wire snips. I was trying to find online what shippers offer that but came up blank so far.
As far as the buyer’s response this is kind of an experiment. I can’t seem to get rid of this thing, it’s on Craigslist at the moment and thought I’d add a “can ship” tag in the title then see what the reception was on the idea.
But first… got to figure out what shippers accept this kind of thing!

heh, thanks, sounds good that’s what I thought! This has been hanging over me for a while 🙂 I’ve gotten a huge burst of energy the past few days bearing down on foundation tasks that need to be done, also was relieved to feel the excitement again researching my items.
ahh! OK thanks, I thought it might be something like that as I did indeed jump on an edit right away. Slowly dialing this in!
