Items Listed this week: 82Best week listing so far. I’m working to build the inventory so when things slow down I’ll still do ok. All I’m really focused on for now is listing and keeping the wheel spinning. I’m spending a lot on inventory to build it up.
Occasionally I run and auction and I seem to get a high number of non-payers that way. I’ll have to keep track in the future so I can report some numbers.

He said the the $450 from ebay is because of my sales, which were @ $2,400. Thanks Beth! I’m going to switch back to the basic store for now.
02/06/2017 at 2:33 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 296: Are You Keeping Up With Your Inventory System? #11889Beth, I might be wrong. I spoke with one of the agents at Ebay but I couldn’t understand what she was trying to explain so I called back. The second Ebay rep said I needed to upgrade stores to save some money so I did. The way I understand it is that the new store gives me 1,000 fixed prices per month. I already have 300 and I add about 200 per month, for a total of 500 ebay listings per month. The smaller store only covered 250 of those listings. I’ll call back and see if that is right.

Number of items listed this week: 53Last week a thrift store had a sale, $1 jeans and half off winter coats. This is a big but picky thrift store that inspects clothes for stains and missing buttons and sends the junk to the Goodwill. I bought 75 or 80 pair of jeans and a bunch of winter coats. I focused on good brand names, like 7 or Guess but also picked up a bunch of Levi’s that seem to sell well.
This week I need to finish listing that stuff and organize my storage. I can fit 300 items on the 4 steel racks I have but they’ve become disorganized.
I also moved up in store. My monthly ebay bill went from $200 to $450 due to increased sales. I switched to a premium store at $75 per month.
I’m inspired by the Patriots comeback win last night so I’m going to use that energy to list and organize this week.01/23/2017 at 10:25 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 294: Finding the Valuable Caches and Going All In #10947Total items in store: 271

Items listed: 36I’ve been listing 50 items per week for the last month and fell short last week.
My goal of $300 profit per week to fund my Appalachian Trail hike in 2018 is working so far. I remind myself that the summer is coming and that it is slower so keep building that inventory.
I usually spend about $120 per week at the Goodwill outlet but last week there was a 50% off sale at a thrift store and I found some good deals.
Eventually I’ll need to get the average price up too. Right now I’m just hustling to hit my main goal. I have been running a 15% off sale during the week and 20% off for the weekends. I think that may help but I’ve found that nothing seems to help sales like consistent listing, just like they say on the podcast.I’m working Ebay to save enough money to walk the Appalachian Trail in 2018. I currently have about 170 items listed and I live in a one bedroom apartment so I 4 large steel racks from Sam’s Club to store everything. I need to profit $300 per week, or $1,200 per month. The last few years I did a lot of Amazon FBA but I’ve been doing more ebay the last 6 months. FBA can be good but,…I don’t know. Prices drop fast and there’s a lot of expense but it is nice to ship it to Amazon and forget it.
I’ve listened to your podcast for at least 2 years now and highly recommend it. I did have to take a few weeks off because of the political stuff. You don’t need me as a listener but I need the information you give so I hope you’ve gotten the political stuff out of your system. There’s plenty of places online to listen to people complain. However, it is your podcast and you don’t owe me anything.
I appreciate the podcasts (except the political one) and love hearing about your travels. I wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2018!
