Hey Flim! I need to go back and re-listen to your podcast interview.
I was picking in NYC last week, and I tried the Goodwill on 72nd, and a Housing Works…I only got one NWT Michael Kors Bergdorf Goodman jacket for around $30 that I listed for $100. I can only imagine how amazing the Brooklyn Goodwill Outlet must be to source from. I’m going to make a trip there eventually.My Dad has been wanting a storage building on his property for years, and we’ve had a million conversations about it. He actually used to build houses for a living, and he always talks about a Pole Barn, which would be a big wooden barn that he could insulate with hay, and he also wants solar panels so it could be self-sustaining. He even wants to add a mother-in-law apartment on the top.
Since you guys already do AirBnB, that could become another investment, or just a good place for your friends and family to stay when they visit, instead of taking up nights in your rental property that could be generating income.
The biggest issue with a wooden building is that it would probably increase your property taxes…At least, it would here in New Jersey. However, putting a metal building would not, usually. You’d have to check with your township on that.
Also, speaking from experience, I used to have my inventory stored in a not-insulated room that is going to be my Dad’s house’s new bathroom….It’s NOT FUN to walk in there fully bundled as if I am ready to go out into a blizzard, just to get some work done. Last winter, my hands ached from the cold after only a couple minutes of working. In my opinion, it’s better to have a space that you can keep warm while you guys are in there.
I don’t have as many belts as you, so I just put them in plastic bags like Ryanne suggested, but I thought I would mention how I organize my neckties, which is in Trading Card Boxes. They have cardboard dividers to separate rows, so you can neatly have them all organized in one place. The same could be done with your belts, and you could write or us a a label maker on the edge of the box, letting you know what color is in the box, etc.
I’m about a week late to this, and it looks like they surpassed the $10,000 goal. It’s amazing how this community came together to support Becky.

I always do my listings on my computer. Unlike eBay, using tags on Etsy is extremely important, so you want to be able to access that. It’s much more time consuming on your phone. You can also have pre-set shipping settings for like-items. I’m not sure if you can access all of that on the app.
