Thanks for the info.. It seems like it would not be that hard of a software switch for ebay but will proceed as i have been. thanks again.
Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the information. Since i am using an iphone for the photographs i am going to revert to the incandescant lights .
So I had a buyer open a case because a priority mail item was “stuck in the system” it was about 5 days overdue. I refunded her completely trying to do the right thing. The item got to her the next day. The post office offers no guarantee of shipping times on priority mail so how should i approach this. Clients assume when they buy and pay expedited shipping they will get items pretty quick but with stories of mail not even being picked up or delivered for several days in some areas of the country, i am wondering how as a seller i should respond. I was going to call this in because i think we are all going to be facing this and feel it would be good to hear it discussed on the podcast.
A cheap source of strong tubes is to check with a flooring company near you. They just throw them away and are glad to give them to you. They come in a 12 foot length and i just cut them to length on a band saw(or hand saw) stuff some packing material in each end and tape it up real well. This is the best way i have found to ship fishing poles but it would work for golf clubs etc. It’s nice because they are plenty long and strong and you can cut them to exactly the length you need. You could buy the pvc caps for the end and tape them on but good packing tape hasn’t failed me yet.
01/27/2020 at 11:22 pm in reply to: How I got the report from paypal for 2019 taxes that ebay collected #73390So yes, Ebay took care of collecting and paying the taxes so we do not have to be involved in that. Where it affects us is that paypal is reporting that the tax that was collected and then paid to the states, was income to us. So my 1099 from paypal says that i sold 28,571 in 2019. but in reality i only received 28,000 the 571 was taxes that were collected by ebay that i never saw. On the podcast i have heard that others are concerned because we also paid paypal fees on that tax money that was never in our hands. I use a cpa as well, but when he looks at my 1099 he thinks that is what i sold and that is not the case. The simple solution is that now that i know the amount on the 1099 that was tax that ebay collected he will just deduct that, show that as an expense when he does my taxes. I hope that helps. doug
