One thing that I do and I highly recommend to everyone. Have 2 accounts on your computer:
– 1 administrator to install new software
– 1 regular user.Always log in into regular user. If you nee to install software just r-click the setup program and choose “Run as administrator” and it will prompt you for administrator credentials.
This way even if you go by mistake on a wrong page on internet the damage that a virus can do is very limited to none.

11/07/2016 at 11:37 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 283: Running Our Businesses Without A Safety Net #5143Actually only about 10% of the items I sell are new. I buy everything at estate sales, yard sales and craiglist. I’m not doing retail arbitrage (and never did) – it’s so mind numbing.
I don’t have a certain category I am buying, I will buy anything that will satisfy 3 conditions:
1. I can at least double my money.
2. I can make at least $30 profit (after I subtract COGS only)
3. I can ship it with regular shippers (I don’t do freight)So I end up buying a lot of electronics, tools, cameras, clocks, high end clothes, some furniture, toys, games and anything else in between.

Here are my numbers for October:EBAY:

Items sold: 147
Cost of Items $2,165.00
Total Sales: $8,299.98
Avg. price: $56.46AMAZON:
Items sold: 126
COGS: $2,028.29
Total Sales: $13,386.52
Avg. price: $108.83October is poised to be like last year best month of the year. I know Nov and Dec have hot sales I just don’t think I will have the necessary inventory to beat October in sales.
