I’m on board with frugal scavenger life style but I came to it late, my 60’s. Now at 71 I’m happily selling on ebay to supplement my retirement income. Every dollar I don’t spend is one I don’t have to earn, one and a half with taxes. Lots of us can’t pass up instant gratification. A case could be made that if you sacrifice and work hard and then get run over by a bus leaving a million dollars in the bank you would have missed the benefits. I think it doesn’t have to be black or white. People can adopt some of the frugal habits to start and seeing the benefits, grow into the life style. Sorry Geezers ramble but I do enjoy the podcast, look forward to it every week.

EBAY is one place where you can start today and immediately be on equal footing with everyone else. There is a lot to learn but you have the same chance as everyone else. With the help of generous people like Jay and Ryanne your only limit is the amount of time and effort you want to dedicate.
We have a contract Post Office located in a gas station right near our house. They scan prepaids anytime day or night, Sundays and holidays. The wait is never more than a couple minutes and I’m now on first name basis with most of the employees. I always come away with receipts. I have a same day shipping commitment on sales made in the AM my time so I occasionally make more than one trip a day. Lots of eBayers and other on line sellers use it. And you can buy gas too. You might look for something like this near you.
I have about 300 listings in my basic store, I only use the eBay app on my phone. My account is set up for all listings to be 30 days on fixed price. Once a week I go on the computer and change store categories in bulk. You can print shipping labels from the phone but I don’t. The ease of taking the photos and sending them in directly rather than having to move them from phone or camera and not storing them covers any other inconvenience I encounter. I have several listings roll over each day giving me the opportunity to review the choices I made in the original listing and adjust. Renewing ten or so a day usually take about 10 minutes before breakfast. Whatever works for you and you’re comfortable with is the best solution.
Cheers!
Is it possible the first letter is the American English size and the second is French for Canada or Spanish for the rest of the Western hemisphere? I don’t know what the Spanish or French terms would be, someone smarter than me may know.
I used to sell a lot of books using Medial Mail. A PO clerk told me you can’t even write “Thank You” or any other “personal” message without violating the regulations. I do include the address inside the package. I’ve never heard of them opening a package to check.
