Yes, they are working on adding GSP into Managed Payments.
We aren’t shown which method a buyer uses to pay. I’m sure many still use PayPal just because they’re used to it on eBay.
A comment about today’s podcast when you talked about Managed Payments in the call in section.
Before you opt into the program it’s very clearly shown that GSP is not available with managed payments at this time. It’s impor to read the terms prior to signing up.
And yes, PayPal is now a payment option for all of us in Managed Payments.
Hi! Sorry, I ship direct and don’t use GSP so I can’t be of any help on that. I fully believe your International sales will go up if you ship direct, but I know a lot of sellers aren’t comfortable shipping direct.
I’m not going to be much help to you with your bookkeeping question. I use easyauctionstracker so all my numbers are auto pulled into that. It breaks down all needed sales tax information and breaks down all my numbers for P/L, it auto creates a bunch of charts and graphs and has monthly/ quarterly / yearly statements for my accountant.
As for GSP, a lot of sellers in the beta are upset about it not being available. I ship direct so it hasn’t really effected my international sales. I do know they are working to get GSP added in ASAP.
Yes, refunds come out of the pending funds. I can’t figure out how to upload photos in here, but I’ll try and figure it out to show what it looks like on screen.
You don’t need a special bank account. If your bookkeeping is correct and up to date you can have it deposited into any personal account.

It states in the FAQs that third party listing tools won’t be effected. I know others in the program that use them without an issue. If I were you I’d call and ask to speak to a CSR that is specifically for managed payments.
Yes Payments is a tab in seller hub. It shows each sale and it’s categorized in either pending, waiting for payout, and items already paid out. It’s a good flow. If a seller is relying on each payment to be instantly available or only sells a handful of items maybe the short wait would be problematic, but any seller who’s selling regularly will see daily deposits as soon as the first week of being in the program passes.
Returns are handled no different. The return shipping costs and refunds come out of the pending money that’s waiting on the next payout. I’ve heard some people have had problems issuing partial refunds, I don’t offer partial refunds so I can’t speak on how that works.
They are updating the program as the beta continues and are working on any issues we incur. The team has been great listening to all feedback. It’s not perfect, which it’s in a beta test so we shouldn’t expect it to be.
I use easyauctionstracker for bookkeeping now because GoDaddy/Outright isn’t compatible with Managed Payments at this time. I do know that is one thing they are working on.
The wait on the money, If that’s a sellers issue with the program it’s good the roll out is going in steps so they can save up a buffer before full roll out.Hope I’m replying correctly…
Overall I’m extremely happy with managed payments. I sell a lot of lower dollar items so not paying the $0.30 transaction fee per purchase really adds up in savings! People think that “it’s only thirty cents” but they don’t see the big picture of the hundreds, thousands of packages each year that have that little $0.30 charge added on!
Yes, the fee is a straight 2.7%. Now we are all waiting to see what happens when they add PayPal back in. They haven’t told us if we’ll get the $0.30 transaction fee and the 2.9% that PayPal charges or if it’ll still be just the 2.7% straight fee. If it’s the latter I’d be very happy, if we have to pay PayPal fee structure I’d like to be able to choose if we want PayPal added back in. I personally would choose to omit PayPal from my listings. I’ve enjoyed not having buyers use PayPal. Lower fees and no worries about PayPal claims! It’s a win win.
The money is available in my back account within three days. Everyday they send a payout to my back. Some payments get sent the same day they pay, others may be in pending for a day or two. I do know some sellers in the beta had issues, but it turned out the issue was with their bank – not with eBay. If you have fraud alerts and such then it’s your responsibility to get your bank to fix the issue. I personally have had no issues at all, I get daily deposits and never had a payment not go through or get held up longer than a few days.
As for postage, Labels go through PayPal as usual. Instead of pulling from a PayPal balance I have mine set to pull from my CC so I get the rewards points. I pay the card off daily, works beautifully!Yes, I’ve had buyers complain and ask to cancel due to PayPal not being available. The worst part in my opinion is if say 80% of buyers who complained or asked to cancel were other eBay SELLERS! The amount of push back from sellers who don’t keep up to date with changes and updates is ridiculous. And the amount of false information being spread by sellers is beyond ridiculous! It’s very frustrating to hear people saying things they “heard” with out checking facts or finding the answers themselves. eBay should have started managed payments when they first split from PayPal. I have no clue why it’s taken them this long. It’s a great move in the right direction. Anyone who’s against this change really should look into the program more and educate themselves. Stop listening to false rumors and educate themselves by reading eBay’s seller help pages and asking people who are actually in the program.
Hope I answered all your questions. All in all- yes, I’ve lost sales due to people asking to cancel cause the “only use PayPal” but the good from the program far outweighs the bad!
