Trash to Cash. A podcast about making a living on eBay.
From what I have read, the state sales tax thing is still a grey area. If I were in your situation I would just pay sales tax for items sold in the state you live in. Otherwise, if you chose to pay sales tax in all other states where you sent inventory to, you would have to buy a state seller permit in each of those states that collect sales tax. I feel like the risk is low for you guys since you are hanging up your amazon hat and only did it for a year or so. Just figure out what the worst case scenario would be and determine if you want to take the unlikely chance of getting an audit.
Of course, I am not a tax professional and you should ask your CPA as you probably have.
Sorry for the late reply. I started by recycling metal and e-waste 6 years ago. Some of the items I picked up I was able to salvage and resale. So I resell half-time but, have been reselling more lately due to realizing my job is very physical and wont be able to do it forever. So, I’m transitioning to full-time reselling.
Thanks for the feed back. I took them to a coin/watch shop and the owner told me they were fakes. He said they were too light to be real. So, that was a bummer but, a least I know and I learned something.
