I just thought of the perfect idea for your new downtown property.
Jay and Ryanne’s Spooky Museum of DEFINITELY Haunted Artifacts
Regarding that sold item redirect “feature”…I wrote a tiny Chrome web extension that bypasses it. It’s a work in progress but it works and it’s published in the Chrome web store. It’s called the “ebay sold flux capacitor”. The only thing it does is change the hyperlinks on the sold results page so they point to the actual sold listings (rather than a similar active listing).
Welcome! What part of Indiana are you from? I’m down here in southern Indiana near Louisville, KY.
Just to clear up anyone coming on new here…free returns are not required for TRS. Just wanted to clear that up and sorry I didn’t catch it in the edit time window.

Thanks for clearing it up! I went into a skim reading panic when I saw “free returns”, “required”, and “top rated seller” all in the same sentence. I feel a little better…
Is there a benefit to having TRS status alone without TRS+ badge and discount?
Yeah. That’s what I’m thinking too. I’ll come back with an update when they sell.
They’re an old Walgreen’s brand that magicians like to use for the look and feel.
The first photo is the box that I have. The second is from a listing I found on eBay of the in-demand style.

Update on my return issue. The item came back to me from the post office as refused, return to sender. I called eBay this morning to see what’s next. The rep checked it out, saw the bogus return request, then opened and immediately closed a case in my favor.
I’m anticipating an appeal today.
I’ve only had a handful of returns for fit but nothing major…until this week. I sold an expensive item that required signature confirmation. The postal carrier tried to deliver it unsuccessfully so it sat at my buyers PO for a few weeks.
Tracking shows it’s at the post office and I’ve called them, requesting they send it back to me ASAP as unclaimed. Then yesterday I get a return request from the buyer claiming missing parts/broken. Haha, it’s still at the post office!
I called eBay and they said it’s clearly buyers remorse, don’t issue a refund, and call a rep again when the refund window closes.
We’ll see what’s next on Thursday…

It must be the ‘extra spooky’ version. HA!

Thought of you two as I packed a large heavy item this morning. It was a hassle…but that means I sold it!
You talked in this episode about some high dollar items that you sold (Quimper, firewood holder). I know that USPS priority covers up to $50 insurance but when do you pay for additional insurance on the shipment?
I think I could ship a small Quimper piece packed well to prevent breaking but sending a ~$200 breakable piece uninsured might give me anxiety.
What kinds of things and at what price points do you typically spring for shipping insurance?
Thanks!

The crackling fire sound effects were totally appropriate for the “Holiday Sales” episode. Haha.
