Ordered my coffee! Listing my hoard of vintage jewelry. I probably never would have gotten around to it if not for the shut down.
Catching up on last week’s episode after returning from vacation. I occasionally us a flat rate box and pay the regular priority rate. How would I know if I was being upcharged? Would I get an email? Does is show on the eBay invoice? How is it labeled? Thanks!
Jay and Ryanne,
Ugh. I recently decided to stop selling clothes and pulled most of my inventory to give to another seller. In the process, I discovered a bunch of listings for items I had previously listed with GTC had just disappeared. Today, I was pulling an item to ship and noticed another item I hadn’t seen in a while. I was pretty sure I hadn’t seen it in my listings. Sure enough, I looked it up and it was gone. In a few months, my husband is going to retire and one of his new jobs is to help with ebay. We are going to do a complete inventory to see how many items are no longer listed. Right now, I’m thinking it could be as much as 5%.Hi guys,
This is about Amazon Merch pay on demand shirt selling. Yes, it really is easy. There is no marketing, website, etc. Occasionally I’ll post a link on Pinterest. People find your stuff through keyword searches just like they do on ebay. I basically only do text-based shirts. I use PicMonkey (they have free or $6 a month service), resize using free online tool, then post the shirt. You decide what to charge and that affects the royalty you make. Sure, there are people paying for software, buying designs, setting up websites and doing it all day like a full-time job. They usually sell on multiple POD platforms. But for a side gig, it is super easy income. I haven’t touched it in months because I’ve been finishing my latest novel, and I make several hundred dollars a month. -Lisa12/04/2017 at 4:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 337: If You Build It, You Will Have Storage #28089Congrats on your new building! You never said how much it cost. Also, I know you have talked about this, but doesn’t it bother you that the first $60 of sales on your little store go to the premium store fee?
05/15/2017 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 310: Am I Selling on eBay the Wrong Way? #18044I bought a laptop like you did with the vacuum, thinking Ebay had my back. Turns out someone hacked another person’s ID and they said they couldn’t return the money. Called PayPal and they couldn’t do anything about it either. Really disappointed in ebay. Luckily, it was only $30.
Ryanne,
When I travel, I change all the handling times to the day after I return. I enter the return date as the day I want to ship. Then I put the store on vacation, but I leave all the listings visible. Then I change the message to read, “We are away but still selling treasures and accepting offers. We will ship your item on __________. Let us know if you have a question.”Then I just leave it. I agree that eBay should make it easier, but this works for me.

I think it would be interesting for you to interview your assistant on your podcast. For example, why doesn’t she start her own ebay business? What are the pros and cons of being an ebay assistant? What has she learned that will help her in the future? What advice would she give others?Love the podcast!

“Touched by the devil.” lol
I just watched Antiques Roadshow from Salt Lake City and there was an early Mormon hymnal worth $40,000+.I did something similar this week. I listed a Vtg. Woolrich blanket coat using “Sell Similar.” The coats go for $40 – $100. Mine was in perfect condition. I FORGOT to change the price and it sold within the hour for $9.99. I was mad at myself and briefly considered cancelling but went ahead and shipped it. I figure it is good selling karma that the buyer got a great item at a great price.
02/27/2017 at 3:34 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 299: What Control Do We Have as eBay Sellers? #13467Loved today’s podcast. Just so you know, I have searched ebay using the term “estate find” as a keyword. I also use things like “weird vintage” or “unusual antique.” I do that when I’m trolling for treasures, not looking for anything specific.
Ryanne,
I have an old iPhone and a person willing to take pictures and start drafts. I want him to do the work at his house and then bring the items back to me. The problem is that I don’t know him very well. How can I set my phone so he isn’t able to access any info from it, buy stuff on my account, find my passwords, etc. I realize that I need someone I can trust, but you never know what someone might do.Thanks,
Lisa
