Why not! Like the watch button in eBay, you can like and save later for items of interest. One common thing that Poshmark shares with eBay are the lowballers – sheesh – cannot get away from them! But you can report and block them too.
My numbers seem high as well – maybe when you share items, that follower is added to your list??? Not sure how they figure that out. I mostly sell on this site, but it’s nice to see that sometimes I can find items for my growing boys – especially since they are brand snobs (Nike, Vans, Under Armour) and I won’t pay retail. Plus they grow out of things so quickly and my $ goes down the drain – then I just resell it.
Did not mean to scare you off by that comment – only meant that if you follow and like another sellers items, it opens the door to receiving offers/sales information from them. I decide to follow others based upon what they are selling, and if their store is both appealing and has items that I purchase frequently or are interested in. I also only like items that I am willing or interested in buying – again, that door is opened for them to make offers to you – sometimes quite often! Which, when they offer an item to me at a reasonable price, I tend to purchase it. Hope this helps – let me know if you have other questions/comments.
Yay! I love that others are looking at Poshmark as a supplement to eBay. I joined in January of this year, and once I got over 25 items, things did pick up! Had to wait 6 weeks for my first sale, but have managed to sell over 28 items in 4 or 5 months. A bit extra $$ doesn’t hurt my business. I am selective as you all mentioned on the items I cross post, and like the flat 20% fee and one-rate shipping cost as long as your item is less than 5 lbs. I am hoping to get all of my clothes-shoes-purses cross posted by early September in time for holiday shopping. I have sold many men’s and a few children’s items – so don’t be misled that its’ for women only. My hope is to make at least $100-150 per week, to offset my shopping/inventory costs. One thing to mention though, Poshmark does not send out 1099’s – so keep a record of your sales/expenses. And once you sell something on Poshmark, you have to make sure you cancel it on eBay – they are not like Bonanza. And yes, their photo systems lack finesse. And no, I am not a twitter-Facebook-social media kind of person, so that part is annoying. I just self-promote my items during their “parties” and share new items with my followers. I am careful who I follow, or else I will get lots of unwanted attention. Thanks for letting me share!!!
Hi! In regards to eBay’s “recent technical issues”, I called them this morning in regards to closing a return and thought it was a great opportunity to voice my concerns and frustrations with these said technical issues. I was transferred to another rep who specializes in listings etc. I explained to this rep how difficult it was to determine which of my listings were missing photos, and the time involved with fixing these errors that eBay caused. She was very apologetic, said eBay was working on it, and then said it would be no problem to waive our monthly store subscription. I was pleasantly surprised, said that would be great, and that I appreciate their working with us. She also mentioned that eBay is continuing to resolve these issues, and may offer additional refunds/credits in the future. So, I believe it is worth your time to place a call to eBay – if not to just have your voice be heard. It made a difference to me – and made my day too!
