To comment on sourcing, I bought a non running motorcycle that came with a bunch of extra parts for $620 on Facebook marketplace. With the intentions to part out and sell on ebay, listed about 10 items already.
To give you an idea I hope to sell the engine for $450, the gas tank for $200, and there are a couple dozen parts to sell for $25-$30. A few $50-$60 parts and a few dozen $10 parts.
Total Items For Sale: 203
Items Sold: 14
Gross Sales: $357.21
Cost of Items Sold: $30?
Highest Price Sold: $58.00 a lot of vintage t-shirts, also a pair of Matsuda Sunglasses
Average Price Sold: $25.21
Returns: 0
Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: $0
Number Of Items Listed This Week: 6Put a junk drawer lot up for auction, sold for $3.25. Realized a day before auction ended that I spelled titled “Jumk Drawer lot.” No sure if misspelling affected search results.
Sold a Nike Jordan T-Shirt for $60 but havent been paid yet, not sure if I will so didnt count that in total.
Also a few of my sales were some albums I have taken out of my small personal collection as well as a cast iron skillet that I havent used in a couple years.

I messaged eBay through their contact customer service email and posted on their Facebook page. The decision was reversed in probably less than an hour.
I message the buyer with the full tracking history, and they replied that their shipping address is a business that has been closed since March 20th. So I would assume that USPS is holding their mail, and probably a ton of other businesses too. A message from the buyer stating that would have been helpful.
Anyway its frustrating. Thanks for talking me off the ledge Jay.
I think its a flaw that if buyer opens a case and USPS is in possession of the item and its an approved address, there shouldnt be a refund issued. Also seller shouldnt have to enter the tracing number because eBay already has that information.

Shipped March 17th. Last delivery attempted March 23rd. Hard to take responsibility once its in the hands of USPS.-

No I really havent, Im in an urban setting and most if not all dumpsters like that are locked up. I do check out roll off dumpsters for buildings getting renovated. Seems like in Chicago it was cheap enough to keep a property in a family for many years, sometimes one apartment will be full from when someone died 20-40 years before and never touched, or a basement or attic. So if the property changes hands first thing is a clean out crew throws everything in roll off dumpsters, Ive literally found gold and silver jewelry in the those situations, clothes, furniture. Victorian door/building hardware etc.
Depends on the color, Elephant Gray sells for $125-140 in a few days. Yellow or Orange Colors $50.
Ive been told the same thing by a university police officer there, they said it goes to a state of Illinois recycling center, which is BS, there are wet leaves and actual garbage in the dumpsters.
I havent gotten into the dumpsters for the dorms, these dummpsters is where they throw away furniture and other stuff when they remodel or clean out an office/lab.
I have sold a couple pieces of furniture on facebook, but some of the stuff I sell to a higher end antique furniture/ design store here in Chciago, for example I found 8 oak office chairs and sold them to the store and he in turn told me they were probably going to the country singer Zac Brown’s new house that he was doing the interior design for.
The Herman Miller shells I find I list on ebay without the base and they arent too big of a pain to ship, usually they end up going to Europe through global shipping.
