We had talked about going to Carlsbad Caverns, but I have a pesky lump on my side. It’s not dangerous, but it does start hurting if I walk too much, which really put a damper on our trip, but other than Santa Fe we didn’t do a whole lot of walking.
When we went to Santa Fe / Los Alamos / Chimayo we treated my friend, his sister and his daughter to two nights of hotel and we did a weekend trip together. They don’t travel much, and so it was especially exciting for his nine year old. 🙂
We were mainly in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Roswell, and Tucumcari. It was the first time I had ever been to New Mexico and I wanted to see as much as possible.
I combined my first account with another one, so the date on my account no longer says 1998, but I remember when I signed up. 🙂
Been an amazing 20 years, that’s for certain. Now I’m wanting to sell off much of what is in the house and move. 🙂

06/03/2018 at 3:50 pm in reply to: What is the deal with $0 value gift card lots selling for $$? #41580The VERY first thing I sold on eBay in 1998 was a phone card with no time left on it. For real! Sold for $6. Been selling ever since. 🙂 Back in the late 90s I had a lot of pre-paid phone cards I used that I had gotten free from various companies and I actually sold repeatedly to the same buyers.
I still have hundreds in my death piles. 🙂

Sonia, I currently drive an hour each way to get to my main grocery store. There’s pretty much nothing but Walmart between here and there. :/
Upon talking more with my husband, he wants to be within 2 hours of Fredericksburg, VA, but at least an hour from Harrisonburg, VA. I don’t want to live near a city (even the size of Fredericksburg), nor do I want to live too close to the ocean. Once you take all of our wants into consideration we’re looking at areas that are out of our price range. We haven’t worked on compromises yet. But i need out of this town. Badly. Small town, lots of gossip even if the stuff isn’t true. 🙁
You’re in Wheeling? I’m about an hour from Morgantown!
I’m hitting my tub of Christmas items this week. 🙂
It’s actually a bookcase or credenza. (I don’t know my furniture very well.) I never would have known this was a find except listening to the podcast. 🙂

My latest cool find is a pair of vintage winter boots by Kangaroo. I loved my Kangaroos as a child, and these are a woman’s size — in my size. They sell for under $20 on eBay so I am keeping them. 🙂 They are still in the box, too!
09/03/2017 at 6:09 pm in reply to: Has anyone gone from full time seller to employed full time? #22505I didn’t get the job. I’ve been pretty upset about it because I was basically told I had it, and I think someone told them some lies about me that have been floating around for a few years. So I’m hitting eBay hard and know I can make more on eBay than the job would have paid. 🙂
One thrift shop I frequent puts out total crap for their silent auctions. (For example, they had a 1970s football card in rough shape. The identical card sold on eBay for under $1 and it was in mint condition.) Yet, the stuff they don’t think is worth anything is where I score. I found a huge batch of needlepoint canvases for $1 each one time. I sold most of them with the highest going for $80. So, just hang in there, in my experience the prices will go down when they find out eBay isn’t all fun and games and that there is work involved, plus when in store sales go down and they have too much stuff.

Thanks everyone! 🙂
To me, it’s all about thinking outside the box as well. I just returned from a trip to Budapest, and I have a whole suitcase full of stuff to list. 🙂
