“You can’t be passive. You must be innovative, creative, and generous. You’ve got to work a few years like few people will so you can spend the rest of your life like few people can”. Just thought I would share this from an article I read this morning. I know that is what we are all here trying to do. So grateful for this awesome community that inspires me every day!
That is incredible and disturbing! I just cannot believe what people throw in the trash.
Awesome Jay!
Merry Christmas to all my fellow Scavengers!!!
This is a topic that really irks me. If I am paying the price that they set what does it matter? They should be happy that someone bought 26 hats! Only a reseller comes in and buys a beat up pair of 80s shoes or vintage coat that will take me days to clean up. Not to mention they get all their stuff for free, mark it at ridiculous prices (not prices geared toward the needy) to sell for profit. Umm…they ARE resellers!
09/27/2017 at 8:31 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 325: New Rental Done, Now Hopping On A Plane! #23335I like to go with the always shocking “I make money from selling dead people’s stuff”!! Just kidding but not really😊 This used to be a tough one for me as well. Over the years I have gotten much more at ease with telling people that I have an eBay store or that I am an online reseller. People are always fascinated and curious.
Thanks for posting the link! So cool because I have been somewhat stalking here since I started selling on EBay. I have been in awe of her business/brand since her EBay days then starting Nasty Gal. She was my EBay idol until I found J&R!!!😉 I will definitely be checking this out.

12/07/2016 at 10:19 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7580Linda~ “YouTube U”….LOVE IT!!! I was on the verge of becoming a grad as well. It is too easy for me to lose an entire day watching YT. My Pinterest binges are usually at night after I am done listing and veg out on the couch. I lose track of time and then regret that I am tired the next day and tell myself that I have to pay attention to the time. Sometimes that works. Most of the time not so much. No different with YT. I’m grateful for the Scavenger Life community. You guys all keep me productive between binges (Lol)! And really? An “under the pillow speaker”?? Is that a thing? If it is I must get one! That sounds like the way to doze off to me! But yes, I agree that it is a wonderful thing that we can be heard and find our own information without it being fed to us by the powers that be.
12/07/2016 at 4:43 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7558Linda~ I can and have slid down the Pinterest rabbit hole for hours!!! I will have to check your boards out. Mine are FULL of recipes I will probably never get around to making. Hair styles I will likely never (and probably SHOULD NEVER!)have. Projects that honestly I think are a bit above my skill level. Anything and everything and I just can’t help it sometimes!! Glad I’m not alone on this one 😉
12/07/2016 at 4:37 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7556Paulo~ Very glad to hear that this hit home for you as well =) I felt like those were the words I need to hear this morning too. Routines and expectations are the things that ruin a perfectly good life. Almost a new year and wishing you all of the best!
12/07/2016 at 9:32 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 287: How Is the Holiday Selling Season for You? #7468Thank you Jay & Ryanne for taking time out of your busy day yesterday to help me jump into the forums! Fell into a Pinterest rabbit hole this morning. Here is the best quote I believe I have ever heard (and completely relevant for me at this moment. Working on this ALL.THE.TIME.): Have a great day Scavengers!
No amount of security
is worth the suffering
of a mediocre life chained
to a routine that has
killed your dreams.
