Hi all, I’m the person from the podcast who sold the Cubs bobblehead. Ryanne misheard me (my mistake if I wasn’t clear) as my name is Jonathan not Ryan. Thought that was a bit funny actually! Anyhow, I purchased my baseball ticket for $100. I was able to sell the item for $45.99 and the buyer paid shipping. It went within my city so it shipped quick.
I’m a redditor and wouldn’t mind the forum going to Reddit. That said the Discorse forums are a better forum format similar to this site but better https://www.discourse.org/. Just a thought.
As for sales a lot of little stuff really did sell some Snap-On tool items new in packaging I got from a charity raffle (2 items for $179.99 a piece). Headed to my first live auction tonight, should be pretty good. Wanted to get some stuff to last me listing stuff to fall (working to list 10-20 items a week) as I have a full-time job that keeps me busy.
Disappointing for sure how some of the eBay algorithms are or aren’t working. At least they are tweaking during summer but still annoying.
Hey @Aperture where did you find those vintage photographs? You sold a ton recently congrats on the sales!
In brief, eBay allows me to get rid of stuff in the house and make money off it. It’s “beer money” and helps to save more money for purchases. For me, I’d love to add more items to sell but at the moment am not able to. My goal for it would be ideal to make a side income that’s 20-25% of my main income. A way to get closer to retirement and contribute.
Haven’t done my numbers yet but did sell some stuff I’ve had listed for 6+ months. I was able to get an offer on an item I was sick of looking at and was fine with the offer.
