Strangely enough, through this episode I discovered that I’d also happily listen to a podcast centered around a pair of interesting people working their way through the process of setting up a coffee shop.
Highlight of the week for me, after searching high and low for a missing piece of an order I admitted defeat and sent the buyer the dreaded “I’m so sorry, i can’t find (this part of the order). Would you like anything else from my store or would you like a refund?” email. Just as I hit send I had a moment of “What if…” and found the missing piece behind a box.
Had to eat some humble pie in a “My bad, I found it” email.
They laughed, a sale was made.
Sigh

A quick look at the spreadsheet shows 12 sales for a total revenue of $510 and a profit of $215 for the week. I’m noticing that rather that I’m clearing out a lot of the gaming items I have bought from others locally and slowly selling more and more retail arbitrage/imported myself type items.
While it makes me less a flipper and more an actual ecommerce store I do like these items as the sourcing a lot more consistent.
Goal ahead is just to keep churning over inventory to build up capital!
The COGs swings pretty wildly between the type of item, how I got it, ect…generally speaking though,
Average revenue per sale $41.50
Average fees per sale $5.81
Average Shipping cost per sale $12
Average COGS $10
Average Profit $13.70
This is truly averaged out over the 90 day window though, I have some regular selling items that sell for $6 plus the shipping cost of a stamp/envelope and others that regularly go for over $100 and go out in decently sized boxes.
