I’ve been using my ebay bucks to buy silver coins. I throw these in a box until they build up to a certain point, or if I need cash flow. I can auction them off on ebay and usually get spot silver price for them.
The point about the correct address is a good one. If you put two different addresses into the ebay/paypal system for whatever reason, it’s really not hard to accidentally send something to the wrong address.
And this buyer was a (0) which ups the odds of a mistake.
Thank you Jay. That second paragraph makes me feel a bit better about just letting this go. Buyer can still leave feedback. And I find calling eBay kind of a chore. Probably won’t get to that point, though.

I wonder what it means to ‘follow up with the Post Office.’ At least, I my own situation, it seems the post office put it in the mailbox and that was that. Can’t imagine what more they would be able to add.
Yeah… just feel kinda bad ignoring the buyer. Flaw in my personality, honestly.
I’m not sure why some items charge almost 10% and others only 3%.
Those numbers are supposed to represent what other sellers are paying in that category. You can change how much you pay with the slider under the number. How much you pay affects how often your sponsored listing gets shown. (Apparently.)
I put up a bunch of promoted listings a week or so ago and there was no effect.
Of course, I don’t claim to have the first clue what the problem is these last weeks.
September’s been dry over here too. Not just lower sales, but lower views also. I’ve put three lots of silver coins on $0.99/free-shipping auction. Less than ten views each in the first 24 hours.
Also had a rash of absurdly low offers.
I’m just telling myself that things will pick up come the holidays and slow sales now means more stuff to sell at better prices closer to the end of the year.
It’s supposed to be safe as long as you don’t let it get hot.
But then again, eating off of plastic seems a bit barbaric anyway.

I know this thread is a little bit old, but I gotta ask, because I’m confused now.
There are new products currently on the market (target.com, wayfair.com) that they’re calling melamine. Is this stuff somehow different, yet the same? And more importantly, is there a discernable difference that effects the value/collectibility of the new stuff vs. the old?
I’ve been wading into this category, so I guess I’d better figure it out.

I sell this kind of stuff all the time. Those will ship cheap, too. Probably $2.66 plus materials.
The thing is, you don’t want to just throw these in an envelope. A little gesture toward treating them nice will go a long way. Best bet, for the least money, is to put the item in a manila folder for stiffening, and then put that in a padded envelope.
And yeah matching the bills to the envelopes sounds like a good idea.
But mainly I wanted to say that you’ve got enough of these to possibly list them as a multi-quantity. If you do that, you’d just say that the item will be randomly selected. And then you can offer a really good combined shipping deal to encourage multiple unit purchases.
My guess at the price is $5-$9 for a matching envelope & bill combo. Plus shipping.
