Thanks, everyone for the advice. I waited too long and eBay went ahead and refunded the buyer. I was planning to go ahead and do that anyways. So I know myself, if I have to call eBay about this I will never do it. I guess I will report them for abusing the system. I will report on what happens.
I totally understand that returns and bad buyers are a cost of doing business. A percentage that sooner or later will take its part.
Hey Jay and SilverFoxFinds, thanks for the welcome!
I’m down south here in Lexington. Jay, you probably don’t remember but we emailed back and forth a few times years ago. I need to sit down sometime and write my story down. It’s a long sad tale.
I was in a situation somewhat like you guys are in now. I owned 5 properties at my best, or worst. A quick summary of what happened. I way overextended myself and tried to take on too many projects at once. I had a thriving retail business gas station convenience store on the interstate. I was a real estate salesperson and I was renovating, renting and selling property of my own and for a commission.
I was a victim of the 2007 crash I guess you could say. The bank kept saying yes so I kept buying. I had some success with renovating and selling property and figured the real estate prices would keep going up. I also had rental units for over 10 years that did really good. I was 20 when I bought my first property that had 5 units on it. I lived in one as I renovated and rented out the rest. Usually moving into the worst one myself. I started losing properties to foreclosure in 2010 I believe. 2012 I lost my retail business as well. I was stressed out and hated what I was doing by that point and did not care. I had an opportunity to sell the retail business and walk away with about $250k. I kept thinking I was going to pull out of it but I never could. I ended up getting screwed over by the fuel company who forced my business into foreclosure over $20,000 that I owed them for fuel. Just 6 months prior I agreed to a 2nd deed of trust on the property for fuel. It’s hard to even bring up and talk about really. Maybe something positive can come from sharing my entire story someday. Things got even worse as I ended up in jail for a year in 2016 lol. Yes, it’s that bad. Things are better now and improving every day focused on building an eBay business once again! -
