My husband Dave and I have been selling on eBay since December 26, 1996. Like you, we saw a lot of changes. Dave passed away last July. He was a licensed auctioneer in Illinois. I discontinued the auction business but will continue to sell on ebay. Daveswick.com is our website. Dave always wanted to call in to talk to you about what you looked for in an auctioneer.
What do I sell on ebay? Dave sold the good stuff, he said my stuff was crap. He would shake his head when a piece of my crap sold before his good stuff would. Our (his) best ebay sale was a 1920 chalkware Cox Roosevelt jugate that he purchased for $2.00 at the Indiana Covered Bridge Festival on the last day of the festival. It sold at auction for $3409.07. I might also mention that it was not in perfect condition.

DonnaThanks for the link. We have already decided to hire an established grounds keeper next summer. Just saying, beware of the employee or contract labor rules.

New employee…. Beware of payroll tax laws!
For example… Illinois Unemployment Auditor told us to put the kid who mows the business lots to start paying him though the payroll system. Because he did not have an established lawn mowing business, we could not pay him as Contract labor.Just FYI.
