Trash to Cash. A podcast about making a living on eBay.
My experience with auctions is very good. The starting auction price is one I’m happy with. I always put a BIN price on it and I’m even happier with that. There are still some bidding wars, too. More than 50% of my items sell in the first 7 days. If they don’t sell, I try again for another 7 days. After that I might tweak the price, rearrange the words in the title, etc. or try a 30 day BIN. I don’t do GTC. I use the 50 free listings and often pay for more when those are gone.
The reason I like auctions is visibility and making people act. My listings get views right away and then again when it’s ending another spurt of views. I mostly sell in a niche, and I think I know what my customers want. If people see that my item is the only one on ebay in this particular color and you can’t get it in stores anymore they will buy it right away.
I can manage auctions because I have a small number of listings.
Some of my listings I start as BINs if that’s the way that similar items are selling.
