This is currently a part-time venture. My wife and I both have full time jobs.
Over the last year and a half my wife was in a pretty intense masters level nursing school and she had to cut her full time nursing job down to about 8 hours a week so we supplemented our income with eBay during that time. It has also been used to pay for a few small vacations and other “wants”. (My wife complained about my eBay room and all the “JUNK” until it sent her to south Florida for a week!! LOL)
My eBay store is really a micro-store that I can only seem to maintain about 200 listings at a time. I maintain about 100 listings on Amazon through FBA and MF. Just to give you an idea of my numbers, last year we had a profit of about 4k and this year we are sitting at about 6k as of the end of November. My future goals are to work towards this being a sustainable source of income so I could eventually do this full time. In the meantime I am working on increasing my efficiency to get more items listed. This is the hardest part for me as I am doing this alone and the process seems to take forever. Just to give you an example I listed about 10 things yesterday which took me about 3.5 hours from start to finish.
So anyway, it is a work in progress, but most definitely a labor of love.
