Number of items listed this week: 24Scavenge of the week: I got 3 band tour shirts (Radiohead and Styx and REO Speedwagon) for $16 total shipped via my new fun place to source – Facebook live auctions. I’ve scored a few great deals and it’s pretty entertaining to see what people have and what people will pay for things (often higher than eBay prices). I keep it on the background while working or cooking and if something piques my interest, I bid. The two groups I like are: Richmond Online Auctions, LLC (they are local to me but also ship) and Bid to Win Live (there’s an auction almost every hour of the day). Richmond Online Auctions is even going into local antique stores and doing buy it now sales to help the shop owners during these crazy times. I’m considering trying out my own auction soon. We’ll see!
I’m also participating in a Richmond local maker/vendor virtual sale the next three days on Instagram (@rvamakersmarket, I am @heygoodeye). I don’t have details on how they’ll do the event yet but it should be fun to get my stuff out there.
Oh! And I got the Southern Split coffee from Broad Porch. YUM! It was strong too. Got me through the day.

Challenge of the week: My day job was draining this week and my attention span short so I didn’t get to list as much as I wanted to. But almost all of the items that sold are newly listed items which is good motivation!
Scavenge of the week: I didn’t buy anything BUT I am learning how to bleach dye shirts so I took some black shirts I had in my inventory and dyed them. My husband took one of the three but I listed the other two. Will see how they do.

Also my scavenge of the week was finding the $1,000 in free money in my bank account thanks to the EIDL grant. Hope you guys are getting free money too!

How does paying for shipping work? If I sell an item today and the money doesn’t show up until 3 days from now, do I have to front the shipping money or do they wait until you ship to take funds from the sale and then deposit the remaining amount (sales price – shipping costs) into your account? I am going to miss having the funds immediately available with the PayPal debit card. But this means I need to build up business savings which is a good idea anyways.

Then when you list an item on Facebook, it will show you a list of groups you can post to. This is a great way to get your high dollar furniture or art to a specific buyer. Here is a link to one group for mcm: https://www.facebook.com/groups/303543106496344/?ref=share
And I second the fact that sourcing is really good. It’s basically an online yard sale for many people. Also a lot of people do porch pickup where you go pick up the item whenever is convenient and either pay in advance through PayPal/Venmo/Facebook or leave cash on their porch.
